Casino powerhouse Harrah's Entertainment has joined forces with marketing giant IMG in order to promote their brand and raise the profile of the WSOP to an insurmountable height.
With the WSOP only a few months away, Harrah hope to utilise the media to make this year's annual series even more popular than it was the year previous. To achieve this, they are depending on IMG to assist with domestic and international partnerships, sponsorships, and product licensing.
The 21 st Century utilises a number of different media and Harrah intend to take full advantage of all avenues; TV, radio, Internet, newspapers, mobile phones, and even game consoles.
With the poker boom showing no signs of slowing down, Harrah's competition in the industry remains tough with shows such as the WPT still running strong. So whether it be through computer games, TV advertising, or mass sponsoring, Harrah's wish of a full monopoly on poker will be nigh on impossible.
What is blatantly evident though is that poker is a big business with millions of people yet to find the game. And whilst those people are still out there, the industry will surely continue to grow.
