Yep, release the balloons and go crazy because the new blonde site has finally arrived.
BIGGER BETTER BLONDER
Not only has the place been treated to a lovely new makeover and a few licks of paint, but we also have several new features, not to mention the odd tweaking of some old ones.
pokernews – Not a new feature as such, but a section in which we now promise to keep brimmed to the max with the latest gossip, news, and titbittery (okay, I’ve made a word up there, but you get the idea). News will be injected into the site on a daily basis and will be fresh, up-to date and informative. I guaran-damn-tee it.
galleries – Split into two categories, the new gallery section should make browsing through the piccies that much easier. More tournaments mean more galleries, which means more snaps for you to feast your eyes on. So I’m saddened to say that tikay’s mug may be making a few more appearances.
quiz – This week sees the one-off appearance of blondepoker’s Bumper Quiz, an eclectic mix of assorted brainteasers, set-up to coincide with the launch of our new site. The quiz will be up for 2 weeks, so you’ll have plenty of time to send us your answers. Sod that, go answer them now before you forget. Hop to it!
shop – One for the future, but in the meantime, feel free to contact Rhowena with any requests for caps, shirts, and signed tikay photographs. Watch this space for future news on the shop. There’ll soon be more blondepoker gear than you fanatics can shake a stick at (although I have no idea why anyone would want to do that).
blonde events & internet tournaments – As it reads really. With the emergence of the blondepoker online cardroom, there is sure to be a bagful more online comps being pencilled in. As soon as I know about them, I’ll make sure that you are kept up-to-date by posting full details into these sections. Now there’s no excuse whatsoever to miss one of our fun-filled comps, although it's not really worth you turning up if I'm playing. muhaaahahaha. (ahem)
blonde blogs – Keep an eye on this section for any titbits from Dave Colclough who fully intends to keep you regularly updated on what’s happening in the poker world of El Blondie. In addition, you may also find the odd pearl of wisdom or intriguing anecdote from the other members of the blonde team who will also be posting. Or you can read tikay's entry. (ducks)
scene & heard – A brand new section consisting of articles which discuss issues ‘seen and heard’ (Get it??) from the poker scene (pun courtesy of tikay).
tankbank – Good Lord, it pained me to title this section, but few ‘clean’ words rhyme with ‘tank’. Anyhow, may I introduce to you the tankbank, a brand spanking new segment in which blonde's very own hidden talent Thomas ‘thetank’ Stott will be sharing his random thoughts. I, along with many others, am a big fan of his posts and greatly admire his writing style. If you share that view, then keep an eye on this section for any new additions from the popular Scot.
diaries – Yet another new addition, this time we’ve transferred across Rob Yong’s WSOP diary, his running account of the ‘Dusk Till Dawn’ venture, and thetank’s ever-popular STT thread. With full uninterrupted accounts of each enty, all three diaries fully deserve their place on the front page. Hopefully the future will bring more additions to the section from our many budding writers.
Internet promotions, freerolls, satellites, bonuses – The very latest news on what’s on offer at our various affiliated sites. But if anyone uninstalls the blondepoker online cardroom, I’ll chin em. Got it, punks?!
uk results – it’s not easy getting our mittens on some of these results, but we’re going to try our utmost to extract whatever info we can from the various cardroom managers (crowbar at the ready). With Walsall, Blackpool, Broadway, and Palace of Cards all on board, we intend to bring you a pretty sturdy results service which will become even sturdier as time goes by.
other results – in addition to publicising some of the key results from around the UK, we’ll also be providing you lucky blondeites with some of the big scores from across the pond, not to mention all the European Events that we are currently being treated to.
So, there you have it, quite a line-up I think you’ll agree. With all these features, combined with the old favourites such as UK cardrooms, book reviews, ask the pro, and so on, blonde is now packed tighter than a tin of sardines.
