After travelling down to Mayfair on Wednesday I got to meet blondites Claw75, Pokerdave69, SuffolkPunch, Indestructable, Ace2M and Silo Graham and what a pleasure it was.
It was a great night, not least because of the blondites and the atmosphere that seems to accompany these blonde events, but also because I was nicely surprised by Dave's talk. Rather than being aimed at the total novice it was aimed at the intermediate player and I felt as though everyone in that room (maybe bar Joe Grech) learned something.
Anyway being on duty I didn't get to play in the freeroll for long or with much conviction but this was a blessing in disguise as I was offered a heads up match with Jen to kill the time. Great. She's Europe's rising star and we're playing for tenners. Real smart Aaron.
Well I could sit here and tell you I won 3-0 but it would be really taking the mickey to not explain the 'how' part of it. The first game was a 99 vs AJ all-in coup which I won, the second was won with my 33 outdrawing Jen's AA all-in pre flop and the third was another even money shot with my JJ beating Jen's AK in an all-in race again. Real skillful eh?
The deck hit me so hard in the face the welts will still be there next week. Wont stop me smiling though. :)
Anyway I'm buying a lottery ticket for Saturday!
A top day all around and I'd recommend the next one to anyone at any level of poker.
