Edmund Yeung is the newest addition to the UKPC Main Event Hall of Fame. The 'new schooler,' originally from Singapore, but now currently residing in Guildford, pockets the biggest 1st place cash recorded from the UKPC Main Event, £210,000.

Yeung outlasted a field of 1,003 entrants, to take the down the Main Event, which spanned across a total of five days, securing his name on the coveted winner's trophy. Yeung decided to play the UKPC Main Event, after having two, £2,200, bullets in the UKPC High Roller.

He finished Day 1 third in chips, with around 330,000, but faced a tough second day. He claims to have made good decisions such as folding QQ on a 8-9-T-J-T board, but overall ran well to secure his seat into Day 3.

It seems that Edmund is having a solid run of results recently, as only last week he cashed in another live tourament for just under £10,000, after making a 3-way deal in favour of his ICM. Not bad for a month's work, eh?

He tells the typical 'new school' story, playing Poker on the side whilst studying International Hospitality Management at University. Yeung's Instagram is dotted with pictures of chip stacks, stern Poker faces and his most recent photo, this one (#NoFilter):

It has come to light however, that Yeung doesn't see Tournaments as his bread and butter, but much sees Cash as his strong point. He can usually be found playing £2/£5 or £5/£10 games at the Vic in London, and is currently just transitioning into Tournaments.

In the Winner's Interview video, located below, Edmund talks about an experience last year, in which he fails to cash in another well-known live event, after being the overall chip leader going into Day 2. Well, you know what practice makes.

I predict that we see more of Edmund in 2016. He is planning to spend some time in Las Vegas this Summer, to catch the last couple of weeks of the World Series of Poker...UKPC turned WSOP Main Event winner? We shall see...
