Monday went over to Eugene's Mum's to drop off Declan for 5 days L
Tuesday very early 4am ouch too damn early, set off from SE London to get to Portsmouth for the 830am crossing only to find Jeff Duvall and Alan Frinton on our crossing, was hoping to get a cash game going but their cards were in car so we fell asleep instead J
Got off ferry at LeHavre and drove down to Deauville which is only about 40mins away but with Eugenes driving 25mins J After following an English car into Deauville which we presumed they were also going to Hotel Du Golf we followed them, only to go the wrong way and got lost, but eventually found our way and oh my god the hotel is gorgeous. No wonder they charge 300 euro a night. Golf course is right outside the front of hotel good job it was all paid for by Pokerstars. Booked into hotel then got the shuttle bus down to casino

Once in casino we had to register for the satellite and said to Euge if I win a seat into the main event as I've already got a ticket he can have it
We decided to go to bed early to get rested for the Main event the next day
Day 2 Main Event Deauville EPT
Got to casino for Pokerstars welcome and freebies giveaway so I could wear the t-shirt whilst playing and had a chat with loads of other online qualifiers and cash qualifiers then we went for the Pokerstars lunch which was spectacular although loads of seafood dishes L Met up with Frank and Eric from Brighton, only to find out that Eric had won the Ladbrokes Poker Cruise $250000 better off, very nice indeed. After having the lunch, it was time for the main event, let battle commence. I drew my seat, and got Devilfish on my left & Jan Bouble on my right what luck lol. It actually turned out to be quite a friendly and lively table and I was winding up Devilfish to show me his hands but I guessed 2 of them correctly. The 3 rd hand into the tourney I get pocket 7's. A canadien guy raises to 200 blinds are 25/50, 3 people call including me. Perfect flop A Q 7, I check, Canadian guy bets , other guy calls, I tickle a raise , everybody calls. Next card is a spade so now there are 2spades on board and the turn was a blank, I think was a 2. I check , Canadian guy again bets, other guy folds, I reraise again. He calls like a flash, so I'm thinking hes definitely got AQ or AK, river is a horrendous card a 10 of spades so now theres a str8 and flush out there and I've just got trips. I check thinking s**t hope he hasn't got the flush, and he checks, and shows AK and my trips win. Devilfish then goads me for a few minutes saying why didn't I bet it and I said well when the str8 is there, and flush draw and all u have is trips what would u do?? And then he shut up for a minute J I'm now up to about 18000 chips in 4 minutes and looking good. Accumulate a bit more and end up taking out a player with AA v his 99 and now up to about 28000 chips just before the dinner break. Euge is on 10000 chips and said he hasn't really seen a hand. We go for the buffet dinner which is sponsored by Pokerstars and EPT and find seafood again on the menu DOH!! Bread and salami it is lol . Also find out that redbull is illegal in france, if I'd have known would have brought it on the ferry over.
Nothing much else happens then after that , Euge wins a pot and takes him up to about 17k and I end the day on 37.5k in chips feeling good in about 13 th place.
We redraw seats for next days play and find I'm on table 8 which is one of the back tables so know that I'm not going to be playing on that table for long before its broken. After about 2 hours of play I get moved onto not only Eugenes table but also Tikays and Racing Ronnies table. Like being down Brighton.

Racing Ronnie tells me he had a bit of a bet, but if he comes in top 80 he'll win and hes not got many chips and I'm now up to about 50k. I'm in small blind, and Ronnie is big blind, he only has about 2k more I put him all in with K9 and he calls me with A5 I think. Flop comes with a King and knocks out Racing Ron but hes in good spirits cos he is in the top 80 and will get loads of dosh back J

Back to the main tournament and nothing major happens. Euge is down to about 13k in chips but blinds are now quite big, I think 2k 4k with antes of about 200 and Euge is on the button and moves all in. Justin who ends up the event in 3 rd decides to call Euges bet with 72 off and Euge shows his hand of 52 off, but how the devil he called the raise, me and Euge are still thinking about that one. The boards is no help to either player but the 7 kicker counts and Euge is out L Not a nice way to go out, especially as Justin had nothing to call the raise with, even if Euge is on a steal why does he call??? We'll never know!! I'm disappointed Euge went out and for next couple of rounds don't really do anything other than lose quite a few chips. Euge went out 35 th so just before the money which started at 27 th . We carry on playing, Frank is still in, Tikay is on my table and one by one players get knocked out.

We are now down to 30 players and awaiting somebody to go all in... now down to 28 players and one player is hanging on for dear life, when finally they get knocked out yayaayayay everybody cheers and we're all now in the money
I don't really see a hand until I get pocket 9's and raise to about 20k, Tikay thinks and thinks and then says I don't like my hand but its big, and probably a 50/50 and lays down AQ. I tell him I've got a med/big pocket pair and says he didn't want to risk it on that hand so I scoop a bit of a pot and get up to about 80k. I'm now getting blinded away as keep seeing 73, 94, 10 5, etc etc and seeing a load of c**p and not getting any kind of chance to raise as people before me are doing that L I'm now blinded down to about 60k and finally we are down to 18 th place. It was Frank who went out in 19 th to finish off the night L unlucky. We are now told play is tomorrow (supposed to be a day off) at 2pm uuuurrrrgh not good

This is the final 18 players and chip counts but luckily I've got most of the smaller stacks on my table which helps J
3 rd hand into the tournament I need to steal blinds as blinds are now 5k/10k and antes of 1000 a hand which is not pretty. I find A3 and stick my chips in, everybody folds around to the big blind who wakes up with AK aaarrrgh no help. We do the chip count and find that I've got 500 chips left which is not enough for even the ante L lol my 63 suited hearts doesn't hit and I'm out in 18 th place, but with 3600 euros in my pocket . Stefan thanks for the vouch and took a 5% on me, so Stefans now in pocket J About 3 hands later, theres a 3 way all in , Tikay, Camel (I think) and another player, Tikey has A 10, somebody has AQ and other player has KK and the kings hold up , Tikay is out.

Was a great event with good play and now hoping to play in Vienna for the next EPT event.
