Not a whole lot to report really. I've not played a single hand of live poker since my last post, and I'm not regretting it one bit. I'm not the only one peeved with live play, Andy Ward is similarly fed up with it.

In my last post, I forgot to link to this - Paul Phillip's Post. The point of interest is in the second paragraph where he suspects that someone on the rail was indicating the strength of Phillip's hand to one of his opponents in the $50k HORSE Event. Walking around the cardroom, not many player's protect their hole cards enough so that anyone looking over their shoulder can't see them. Just another disadvantage of live poker.

A few days ago, Dave 'Dubai' Shallow found himself sat next to Phil Hellmuth in the $5k six-handed event. Dubai was playing aggressively and taking pot after pot from Hellmuth without showdown. I was watching proceeedings along with Dpommo and Ariston and we were making much merriment out of the fact that Hellmuth looked like he was going to burst into tears at any moment, and then Hellmuth's Mother came to the table to give him a comforting cuddle. You couldn't make it up.

Last weekend I saw, for the first time, TV coverage of some of last year's final tables, including Hachem's victory and Brian Wilson winning his bracelet. I must admit this did give me a taste for it, I just wish the fields were smaller so it was more of a realistic possibility.

I requested the fourth start day for the Main Event, however I've been allocated Day 1, so I will be playing my first WSOP Main Event this Friday. I really think I should have some more live practice before then, so I've bought in for the $1,500 tournament which kicks off eleven hours from now. Despite what I've said about live poker, I'm actually quite looking forward to it, though I guess this will wear off within ten minutes of sitting down.

As for TJ watch, well as I've been avoiding playing live I've not been to the cardroom too much and hence not walked past the dice table. However, with the re-arrival of Diceman Green earlier today that may be about to change!

I've been following Neil Channing's diary, another Brit who has been out here for the duration, and well worth a read. There's also a good few other WSOP diaries accessible from the blonde Poker Diary section.

Time to get some sleep now before seeing if it really is possible to double my starting stack in a live tournament.
