During the early hours of Friday morning, Jennifer ‘Mrs Merton' Mason tied up the BlueSquare.com Unusual Suspects title by defeating James Dempsey and John Falconer. The prize? A 10,000 Euro seat at the EPT event in Monte Carlo and a congratulatory shake of the hand from organiser Johnathan Raab.

This victory comes off the back of a culmination of competitions including shoot-outs, STT's and festival multis. Initially, the likes of Stuart Nash, Joe Grech, and Micky Wernick were all in the running, but the pack was eventually whittled down to 3 remaining warriors when JP Kelly was eliminated in 4 th spot.

Before the day began, it was poker veteran Burnley John who was leading the race with 111 points. Hot on his heels was Jen with 109, followed by James ‘Royal Flush' Dempsey on 107.

With two matches to go, it was Jen who had taken the lead with 117 points and just one win away from sealing victory. Standing in her way was James who needed to win both his remaining matches in order to steal the win.

However, the match was to prove brisk and perhaps somewhat of an anti-climax to what had been a tiring night's work. When the chips went in, Jen held pocket tens to James' pocket fives. The third five failed to arrive and Jen was the champ!

Although Flushy managed to see off John in the final match to take the 2 nd prize of a £500 festival entry, it is clearly Jen who will be most elated as she prepares to set off for the experience of a lifetime in Monte Carlo.

Good luck Jen. A million Euros awaits you.
