I don't get why anyone thinks taking 2% extra off the recs and giving it to some pro who plays the whole series is a good idea either. It is 2019. GUKPTs used to be so good.
Yep. £50 rake on a £1000 main event. Leaderboard added money not taken from 99% of punters who can't possibly win it. 10% rake on all side events. Come racing in 2019. All to fund the sponsored pros buy ins and David Hayes marketing fee. Lovely.

pretty lame attempt really. If I am around in Walsall or Birmingham on that day I might play, but even more put off going to play a GUKPT this year (I didn't play any in 2018) - with the 1000+110 rake - seriously guys? And now the extra 2% taken out for a leaderboard that I won't compete in.
Hopefully everyone in the Midlands will go to DTD instead and support the club there.

As an addition to the GUKPT and 25/25 Series Grosvenor have now announced a ‘deepstack’ series
http://www.gukpt.com/deepstack/
Of note,
£130+£20 entry for a £12,000 gtee
2% deduction from prizepool to fund a league table that applies across ALL Grosvenor Tour Events
£11.25 from every entry is converted into a 25/25 seat which becomes part of the prize pool
Any overlays will be paid out using Grosvenor Poker Tournament Credits
Form an orderly queue...
Couple of corrections
For every 20 players a £225 seat will be taken out towards any 25/25 of choice. Capped at 10 seats.
Any deepstack overlays will be paid out in cash. They voucher system will only be used for local events
You say every 20 entries = a £225 seat
I say £225/20=£11.25
I stand corrected on the overlays.
I trust that this will encourage them to be more aggressive in their guarantee setting
The reason why it’s different is if you got 139 players it’s still 6 seats taken out. Not 6 seats plus 19x£11.25

What’s the idea behind these Jim, will the take over the one day specials at Luton? Or are they in addition too?
Not a fan of taking seats out of the prize pool, much prefer the Last man standing option. Not sure if personally I’m gonna play these, be a shame if the one day specials were lost.
Hi Scott they are in addition. It won’t afffect anything else going on at Luton. It’s just a new prize point comp for players to play under the 25/25
A lot of clubs don’t get 25/25s such as Plymouth or Aberdeen. So they have these now

It's an absolute shocker. Getting serious stick on social media as well.
The league fee so in favour of pros that it puts a rec like me completely off from playing.

Not everyone approves of or enjoys playing at DTD for reasons of their own perhaps..

You suggested.....
Hopefully everyone in the Midlands will go to DTD instead and support the club there.
And Pokerpops replied "nothing to see here" somewhat tongue-in-cheek, as he has some "history" with DTD, in fact, I believe he may be persona non grata there.
I'll echo Pokerpops -
nothing to see here
.
Karabiner perhaps phrased it better.....
Not everyone totally approves of or enjoys playing at DTD for reasons of their own perhaps..

Just heard the original £50k £300 deepstack freeze out made a reappearance this weekend at DTD. Shame there has been a substantial overlay. I had no idea it was on as i don't follow anything DTD anymore.

And it was a proper freezeout too. You could play as day 1 online but if you bust, you're out, no trying again in the live day 1.
I played their £50 comp on Friday night, made £15.7k with 300+ runners and the deepstack was quite the topic of conversation.

Never seen a Festival before where two of the first four nights are 'cash games only'.
Also, there's been a list pretty much every tourney this year thanks to lack of dealers. For anyone planning to play this week, get there early imo.
