What are they thinking? Just absurd. The guy comes in and starts shooting his mouth off having not been in a job for years and years.
And then they release a statement saying that Pardew will "report in to Joe".
If it wasn't for the 8 year contract Pardew would resign surely. Can't blame him sticking around to collect the massive payoff, but he is being made to look a fool.
Did you see Kinnear talking about his achievements at Wimbledon?
"I sold Marcus Gayle, Leonhardsen, Micky Harford, John Hartson, Hans Segers, most of them were [bought in on] free transfers."
Well for starters, Hartson cost.............£7.5 million. What a clueless mug.

How did someone like Ashley ever succeed enough to become a multi-millionaire? He seems to have acted like a complete moron in almost everything he's done since taking over

And what then? He can't seriously be considering putting Kinnear in charge of the 1st team on his own? He's WAY past his sell by date.

I think Ashley is underestimated...and despite initial popularity issues has turned the club around.
This is just business cunning. He knows he can't fire Pards without a huge payout...so instead he appoints someone that makes Pardews position untenable. He WANTS Pardew to resign.
Yeh so business cunning give the guy an 8 year deal. Shrewd

Pardew on a one year pay-out. Poyet will be at Newcastle and would take them down unless he gets given a top 4 budget.

This Papa Cisse thing is a bit weird. I'm not a fan of Wonga.com, but for him to suddenly decide it's against his principles to play with a sponsor on the shirt who makes money from interest on loans is a bit hypocritical after a year playing with Virgin Money on his shirt, in the Barclays Premier League. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23347131

This joke is good though:
Initial fine £5000, rising to £45,795,896 if not paid by Sunday.

I think most of us have principles that come into play at the extremes.

Wonga are paying Newcastle £8m per year to be shirt sponsors. Its scary to think how much money companies like this must be making.

But on the other hand, I don't think the Koran specifies an APR threshold. Virgin Money certainly provide credit cards to people, and the interest rates and levels of credit handed out are often very high and encourage over-borrowing.
