I fkn love the jeepneys here in flipperland, why can't we have fun transportation like this?

Anyway it occurred to me they fit in with this months theme so I popped to the local jeepney station to get a few snaps. Only used my small cam as I don't feel comfortable carrying my big one around here.

The old ones like in the first few pics were basically old US army jeeps that got left behind after the WW2. The locals extended the wheel base to make them longer so the can carry more people.

They often put their names on them or names of their family, I'm guessing this is his sons name.

Being a country with a strong catholic tradition, there are references to god on many of them.

There are also a lot of pimped up newer style ones around too, although I prefer the older ones above.

This has to count as machinery.

Anyone know what it is/was?

Pretty difficult to tell, I thought it was a MKI or MKII Jaguar at first, but the headlights are wrong.  I'm thinking Austin might well be right, and it has a lot of similarities to an Austin A35, but still not an exact match.

Loving the vans Woodsey, could they be camper? Wink

4 days of solid sunshine now encountering incoming front and clouds and cold strong winds. Just had my point and shoot with me but thought I'd experiment with handheld HDR, just set it to manual and took an overexposed (pretty bright but not whiteout), underexposed (dark but not total dark grey), and just 'right'. There were shutter speed limitations on getting to the exposures so I had to mess with Aperture too. Ran them through Photomatix and then manually tonemapped.

W
OK  I expect this has been asked ( or similar) some where in this thread but cba going through to find it.

I have no luck with cameras what so ever, every one I purchase breaks usually just over the 1 yr warranty. Just like my last one did, not through damage just stops working end of.

Now with this months spare cash I want to buy another one as since Orlando all I have is my HTC Desire phone cam.

I have around £120  ( I know it is not much) to spend on one and I see Argos have some great 1/2 price offers on. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Browse/ID72/14419441/c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7CPhotography%7C14419436/c_2/2%7C14419436%7CDigital+cameras%7C14419441/r_001/4%7CPrice%7C100+%3C%3D++%3C%3D+199.99%7C2.htm

Any recommendations on any of these or should I just look at full price ones on the train of thought that the half price ones must be crap and not selling?
Memory card full.?
No and I have put petrol in it before you ask.  Grin. The battery won't charge and tried a new one. Any ideas.

lol that was my guess.

It's surprising how clear you can get photo's through an additional lens.

I think the best I've seen were some a friend of mine took through night vision goggles - they were pretty spectacular.

Was just reading about how that family of cameras is quite popular in the astronomy community because of the low noise. Night/long exposures from competitors often have too much noise for decent starry shots. http://www.astronomiser.co.uk/helpcanon.htm

Some of you probably don't stray into the degen part of Blonde too often, thus will not be aware of my current challenge (http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=57248.msg1539658#new) Cliffs of which are trying to spin up the buy in for an upgrade on my current camera which is a (http://www.reevoo.com/p/samsung-p1000).

The original plan was to get one of these: http://www.whichonehowmuch.co.uk/pr-2696107/pc-29/c-17/photography/digital-cameras/canon-eos-600d, simply because my friend has one and the pics he takes look great.

Obv 'my friend has one' isn't the best reason to purchase a camera so now i am beginning to do some research, where else better to go than here? I am fully aware that simply by typing out this post I have put a massive bok on my whole challenge. But hey ho, its done now.

Subject:

New to Photography
Like wildlife/nature shots
Like close up shops
Like to edit photos but this doesn't need to be done in camera
Good with technology/overly convoluted gadgets

Camera to fit purpose: This is where i need the help, Dob't really know any of the following:

Low end DLSR/Compact/Bridge?
Type of zooms/Lenses?
Make?

I did a test on the website and told it basically what i wanted and to my surprise it suggested my friend's camera: Canon EOS 600D or the Nikon D3100

Anyone got any thoughts?
