Cheers tmar, it def felt due! Smiley

Ok so ive been doing a bit of research into course form for the us open and think ive got a spot of value with furyk, i just hope he's not in the same form he showed at the memorial.

Also am hoping to back 2/3 small bets with stan james-mbn to have an ac with them as they have some ricks imo, if anyone could place them for me-id ship via banking first-pleae pm me if so-obv will owe beers in future.

So far my portfolio looks like this:

2 pts win Mickleson@16-1

1pt ew Furyk@55-1 (first 6 places)

1pt ew K J Choi@33-1

0.5 pt ew top american Furyk@25-1 (first 4 places)

3.5pts Furyk to be in top 20@2-1

Balance=72.15 points.

Have added the following:

1pt ew Snedeker@66-1 (first 6 places)

0.5pt ew top american Snedeker@30-1 (first 4 places)

Balance=69.15 points.

Added Frankie Molinari to my team @ 130 which looks very decent value.

I quite fancy Hunter Mahan but can't take the skinny-looking best priced 25/1, perhaps IR.

i don't fancy Mahan with the flat stick on a US open course, although the rest of his game suits the course. its going to be ridiculously fast greens apparently.

Have stuck a few pins in various places for a few quid and a bit of interest. Can't remember who I've got in total, but suffice to say I've never really heard of some of them. Yang, Laird, Casey, some random Korean, some bloke called Kevin and a few more.

Anyway, general question though for those of you who know what you're doing: would you rather have one quarter the odds on an each way bet paying six places, or an outright bet on a top five finish (ties paid in full) at one fifth of the odds to win?

To hopefully make that a bit clearer... Some guy is 100-1 to win. Bet each way at 100-1 paying six places? Or bet on the 'top five' market at 20-1?

I guess overall it doesn't make much difference, but maybe it depends how long their odds are - ie how likely they are to actually win it? Presumably lots of guys at long odds are much more likely to come fifth than first - whereas players at shorter odds are maybe as likely to win as they are to come fifth?
