Just heard the news about GSP's retirement/sabbatical/extended RnR

Good for him.
If anyone deserves to walk away on his own terms, it's Georges.

I would like to think he'll take a couple of years off, coach MacDonald to a title shot, and when Hendricks completely dismantles him, he decides to come back and take another successful run at the title.

He may also try and fail to comeback, or even stay retired.

Either way. GSP=confirmed legend of the sport.

First fight I remember seeing was GSP vs BJ Penn in about 2006. Always liked George, so much heart and even more class! GL to him.

Saw that he was vacating for his sabbatical, and hopefully it won't be too long.

Confirmed boss, and up there with Anderson for the best ever!

Think UFC really messed it up.  This time last year they couldve had a GSP v Anderson Silva superfight if they really pushed for it or a Jon Jones V Anderson Silva superfight if they really pushed for it.  Now neither of those fights will likely ever happen for years, and by then GSP and Anderson will probably be beyond their primes and it doesnt have quite the importance now 2 of them dont have the titles in their divisions.

I was never that bothered by the prospect of catch weight super fights.
It always seemed to me to be a lazy way of 'settling' Pound For Pound arguments.
There's three great fighters who are dominant in their divisions.
Leave it be IMO

I am looking forward to Anderson being restored to top of both the MW and P4P lists before the year is out.

Just been looking at the 168 card, and there's no way I can have a bet on it. There are too many fights that my thoughts would be clouded by outright support for a preferred fighter.
These are the fighters I will be supporting:
Anderson to beat Weidman (unashamed fan-boy)
Tate to beat Rousey who came across as an utterly classless bitch in TUF
Browne to beat Barnett who's an over hyped old school ego maniac and habitual PED cheat.
Miller to beat Camoes. Jim Miller was on course for a title shot but fell foul of schedules and of being too busy and taking really tough fights to fill the time.
Brandao to beat Poirier. Brandao has that killer look in his eyes that I love in a fighter. Same cold stare you get from Thiago Silva who makes me shit myself from across the Atlantic, just by looking into the camera lens.
Hall to beat Leben (retire already, it's over)
Tibau to beat Johnson (another Brazilian with killer eyes)
Siver to beat Gamburyan who I've hated ever since I saw him offer a glove touch at the start of a fight and turned it into a spinning back fist. dick move.
Ambivalent on the bottom three fights on the card.

Warrr Silva, Tate, Browne, Millar, Brandao, Hall, Tibau & Siver!!!

might have a couple of quid for fun, but write it off.

Think Anderson wins, looked a class above Weidman on the feet, just cl owned around too much

Be interesting if Weidman takes it to the ground more this time, because he was doing well there in the first fight, and knows that Anderson isn't going to clown as much again.

I like Silva in rounds 2 and 3. Haven't touched women's fight, really want Tate to win though.
