Perfect opportunity for guerrilla marketing here from a tabloid or one of the 'edgy' books. Tot up the score from the Lincoln to the November Handicap and award a 'Real', 'People's', whatever, jockeys' championship.

Does anyone really give two shits about the jockeys title? (apart from R Hughes)

Racing is about individual events, not a load of little events leading up to winning an overall champion.

Ask any jockey whether they'd rather win the Derby or jockeys championship.

Can be good for betting on, which is all that bothers me.

Shorter course won't make it any more competitive, though. Be less competitive if anything.

When you look at a horse's form in the RP and the prizemoney it has won, it lists Hurdles, 'Chases, NHF, Flat etc.

It also lists "Rules Races" often for quite considerable amounts.

What exactly are these Rules Races?

Here's an example:

www.racingpost.com/horses/horse_home.sd?race_id=598076&r_date=2015-03-12&horse_id=723488#topHorseTabs=horse_

Total races competed in under rules excludes point to points

Short Notice chaps, and missed the value, but word is about for Rock Charm in the 610pm race at Chelmsford this evening. 5/2 still about but has been punted heavy all afternoon since word got out from 5/1. Its come from a shrewd racing Club, that have had 5 out of last 6 winners I  have been given over the last few months from them and subscribed myself recently. Good luck if you back it.

You sure you have the right horse, Freddie?

According to Oddschecker the horse has never been bigger than 5/2

Hey Marky

I got the message yesterday, but didn't even have a chance to look at it till today,(St Paddys Day hangover that I never ever want to see repeated in my life) and I got was 11/4. Maybe the boys meant it got out last night and the early was all taken before this morning. Been snowed under all day and dint even have a chance to look again or post till now.

Hopefully shoo in and pay for the damage Tuesday night did to my bank account!

Don't apologise mate, not saying racing is bent or anything but it's probably worth keeping an eye on it, strongly fancied by everyone, on paper seemed to have a decent chance, supported in the betting and happened to watch the race and it ran a bit of a stinker, probably hose up at 3/1 next time!!!

Champagne Express runs today in the opener at Newbury. I think I posted about this horse on TfT, but I'm not massively advocating a bet at 5/4, so I'll stick it here.

A dear friend of mine has an eyelash of this horse as part of The Owners Group. Good bit of fun for what is basically a round of drinks. Ran very well last time out and looks like it could be the best of the Owners Group stable, as it were.

Henderson has entered CE for a number of races since its last win but has pulled out of each, having mentioned for a while that this race at Newbury should suit best.

Here's hoping!

Had a small win bet on Benzanno 2.25 Bangor 7-1 with 888, think potentially well handicapped have been waiting for better ground. Course may suit front running tactics, apparently decent claimer can't hurt.
