Ship all the money to Dave 'Le Knave' Jones

After a 'steady' day one  - hes gonna rush for 8 hours taking Andy O'Flaherty out along the way (just to please ChipRich!)

Could someone do me a favour in Nottingham - just as Dave is reaching his chair - just say 'stfd' from me!!!!!

Le Knave FTW!

The Cryptologic network (which Hills, Befair, Littlewoods etc are all part of) has been having stability problems recently. Actually, the network has never been all that in terms of reliability, but over recent months it's been very flaky. I think their software needs a big rewrite, but I get the impression that no one at Crypto actually knows how their software works in its entirety, so everytime they try and fix something, something else goes wrong.

[  ] It got big rewrite.
[  ] They fixed what was wrong with it

Hi Maureen
Have just come across this thread as I only lurk now and then. Me and my partner Jue met you and yours at the Circus, Stoke earlier this year and are sad to hear of the little chaps troubles. I have to say he's a tough kid and we wish you, your family and Reece all the best for the future, and fingers crossed for success with the treatment.

call 1 fold 2

+1 your hand is SO under-repped in hh#1 that I cant think of a single reason to fold, whenever I get to a river without the initiative in a hand like this with pretty much the top of my range I'd just call save becoming easy exploitable,

I think hand two line is pretty much spot on if you folded river.

Hello blondites
Just a quick virgin post to say hello and to thank tikay for introducing himself to me in the £50 notts tourney last night.  It was a pleasure!

I thouroughly enjoyed making the final again and to beat as many men as possible!!

Big congrats to Julian for wiping the floor with the remaining 2 out of 5 cypriots at the final table! Great win considering you were only left with the blinds at one stage!

I look forward to heads up wiht you next time!

Lol sik brags.

rofl

This happened to me earlier today: I'm Foaming_H in seat 4.

Game #612745904: Texas Hold'em No Limit (100/200) - 2005/07/02 - 14:56:08 (UK)
Table "Tourney 762697 - 2" Seat 2 is the button.
Seat 1: rober (3335 in chips)
Seat 2: ProdigyNH (3110 in chips)
Seat 3: __dog__ (5070 in chips)
Seat 4: Foaming_h (5582.50 in chips)
Seat 5: Pasbesoin (12655 in chips)
Seat 6: donross (2785 in chips)
Seat 8: Dougyfish (6810 in chips)
Seat 9: Toadave (6915 in chips)
Seat 10: Tito123 (5495 in chips)
__dog__: posts small blind 100
Foaming_h: posts big blind 200
----- HOLE CARDS -----
dealt to Foaming_h [Ks Kh]
Pasbesoin: folds
donross: folds
Dougyfish: raises to 400
Toadave: folds
Tito123: folds
rober: folds
ProdigyNH: folds
__dog__: calls 300
Foaming_h: raises to 1200
Dougyfish: calls 800
__dog__: folds
----- FLOP ----- [Ts As 5c]

Now, as I have to act first, what bet would you make?

Leave the rebuy crapshoots to Gala to sort out! I think shortening the opening times and days will get the place back buzzing again in a way that hasnt really been seen since the norweigans left. Still the best place around to play poker :)
Nice one Rob.

Told you the rebuys wont work at DTD :D

pleno gonna pleno

Why are we saying he could have qq-aa here? He obv raises the flop with op to the board. Depending on how aggresive he is, he probs raises akc here, only hands which he flats two streets are flush draws imo. Bet folding this river is awful too for people suggesting to fire out a blocker. People fire out blockers far too much these days, as a kinda disguised value bet, playig 5-10 at the venetian I guess you get raised here even if he has air.

Oh and fold pre.

DT (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/)D (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/) 300 at the weekend. Still at our starting table, we have a veritable plethora of different styles, Barry (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=42) Neville (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=42) , George (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=154) Geary (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=154), Roberto (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=376) Romanello (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=376), James (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=185) Browning (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=185).

In seat one is a young guy who I didnt know of. he was certainly not short of attitude, having already called the clock on George (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=154) Geary (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=154), and I was getting the impression that he thought he was better than he was. anyway, the blinds are 100/200, I have about 14K, young guy has about 10K in the small blind. I am UTG and get dealt  7h 8h. To mix it up a bit I raise to i think 650, and it is folded round to the SB who calls. GG folds the big blind.

Before the flop comes down young guy extravagantly bangs the table and annouces "check in the dark".

Flop comes  4h 9h Qh.

your move ?

If he's young "AND a solid online player" then his range for calling an utg raise from sb is going to be very narrow. Something like (22-JJ maybe QQ, AK/AQs+ and some 89ss/JTss hands)

So what part of that is he going to continue with?
Bare A/K h; 44/99/QQ(lol) only 2 pair can be a spaz call pre with Q9s though I cant see that.
He's pretty much always check raising draws/sets or c/c Axhh that flopped the over flush.

That is a very narrow part of his range so i'm not that against checking back the flop as he will then be adamant that you CANNOT have a flush or at least that's a small part of your range and when a 4th heart hits he will never give you credit for a big h having expected you to bet it on the flop as a cbet having raised utg.

If you check back flop and it's a brick and he leads you could ghay raise small, if a heart comes i'd look to call the turn slowly and re-evaluate the river.

Bear in mind that i'm not very good at the pokerz  And would prob just bet flop 100% of the time in reality in this spot because we haz a flush innit.

EDIT - I think our hand means that he has to have the K or A of hearts or JJ with a heart to really continue and put any money in on the flop so slow playing (I literally have only ever slow played about 3 times lol) may actually be the most +EV, regardless of whether we hate the idea of seeing a free turn.

edit- 2

Checking in the dark as has been said is great against weaker players, but against strong players who know when they need to peel and when to bet it doesn't work aswell, I dont like it as much in tournies because it removes your donking range which in alot of instances combined with stack sizes is a great play and can be very profitable.

I check dark preflop when first to act in multiway pots because I am going to check anyway and I think that it gets me less credit as again has been said before when I just c/r huge with the nuts.

Checking dark with strong hands doesn't really make much sense but could be interesting against better players to balance when you call and check dark with 45s.

TL;DR.

3  years ago was a long time  ;ashamed;

I'm so surprised my first post wasn't me just putting 'lol' somewhere.

Well I finally got around to registering - not bad in 6 months!!

A question for the cardroom-manager-types out there:

Recently playing final 2 tables of a live tourny, as we get down to 2 tables of 6 what started as a suspicion started to become blatently obvious.  3 locals were giving each other a walk whilst combining a continual assualt on the other 3 blinds at the table.  Realising I was on a table of death, I took my only course of action which was to shovel it in and try and break players to get to the final 9.  I managed to do this, but clearly having to take more risk in doing so than I would like.

So, as a cardroom manager, how many rounds would that pattern have to be maintained for you to be satisfied that you could make a soft play ruling with confidence?

Still not had a good answer :)

Mine is so dull.

How did the dealer know it was 129?  Did the Villain show the chips to him while holding them as if he was going to bet?  Also when the Dealer announced the bet what was the Villian's reaction or did you snap too quick to see?

Might be an angle shoot but from what you've said it's a dealer mistake.  Either way not too much there to get a ruling in your favour.

This was from the days when i actually had a fold button, makes me shiver reading it over. Reliving the time i was abused by Evilpie in one of those old 20/20 comps at DTD.

Yea WP Matt. I needed a cold shower after that one, felt like i had been proper abused on the FT.  Next time we are on a table together i will try raising with a hand so i don't have to fold when you push on me for the 7000th time. So glad you was immediately to my left....

Hi Tikay

I was the guy sat to your left last night so you did manage to get me to sign up!!

Just wanted to say it was great meeting you and I enjoyed your company at the table.  Hope to repeat again in future!

Sheriff

It was a £500 tournament at the old Luton Grosvenor, and I'd been drawn next to Tikay on the opening table.  I was vaguely aware of blonde at the time and signed up the next day.

I ended up being part of a 6 way chop which involved Carlo Citrone, Rob Yong, Micky Wernick, Trevor Reardon and a fantastically named Swedish guy called Mistereggen.  Some mug by the name of R Prew also final tabled that tournament.

Brings back fond memories - despite the much glitzier venue, there's something 'missing' from the new Luton G venue (not least the walk down dead-man's alley to the car-park!)

nice site guys and best of luck with it

glad to see you have a forum up and running with decent software too

few improvements i would like to see to the forum to make it smoother

1) new disscussion in general caterory "how to" so that people looking for help in there game can post hands etc etc to get help on without  reading thru all the junk that I and many others post on the general board

2) a disscussion in tournment news where travel and casino info can be swappped this will also help people looking to travel or goto new casinos get the info they need without seeing Myself and sensitive sammy fighting over fire safety in a mulitstory building

ffs i made even less sense then than i do now, i know thats hard

but hey i did suggest PHA under a different name (i think)

Really good read Alex. Excellent way to vent the repressed thoughts of a posh boy stuck in a city where poker players rarely enunciate. Plus this totally means I can stop stealing your journal; something that has become increasingly tricky with all your trips to the Vic, and your ever-changing sleep roster.

Bookmarked.

I would like to play at Dusk till Dawn as a poker only venue
I play regularly on line with low stakes but would like to experience live games in a regulated environment
The only live poker experience i have had has been in unregulated games which are probably illegal
I believe dtd as a live venue would give me the opportunity to develop my playing ability in a game i consider to be part skill part luck i view it as a hobby
and welcome the opportunity to play in a non casino but regulated environment

As of last year, he was living in the Phillippines, & playing some fairly active cash games in a local Venue.

Lame deal!!!!  WTF?!

what were the chip counts at the time of the deal?

It was about to go 5k/10k/1k. Garinder had about 145k, Swingler about the same, Wong had a little bit more and Dicesare and Stearn had about 325k each.

get it played out!... IMO

Completely standard 9 times out of 10 after i get knocked out of a final they've chopped it up within half an hour.

I would have expected you to take it down quite easily with your chip stack after the QQ vs 66....!

GG though.

Lol, wow. I managed to rub Riverdave in my first, and I promise you it was 100% unintentional at the time.

Hi all, this is my first post on Blonde but i bumped into a guy in a bookies in Luton 2weeks ago and got chatting he said he was a work rider for a stable and gave me a horse running 2days later which won at 8-1. He rang me yesterday and said that it was running again today and was trying, unfortunately its not the same kind of price its only 2-1 betfred or 15-8 coral hills ladbrokes.
The horse is Tubby Isaacs in 2.35 Goodwood, hope it wins for me and anyone else who backs it.

Obv this was a loser but DEGENS GONNA DEGEN!!!!

Hi there,

Newish to Blonde, howdy guys.

To save me from searching through the entire thread, what is the estimated date of opening for DTD next year? I think it will be the best thing to happen for European poker, maybe ever.

Hi guys and gals,

I am sorry to change the topic of payout structures, but as it is my first post on this site, I just thought I would introduce myself to all blondites (and other card room managers, supervisors and dealers) My name is Richard and I am the card room manager of the Broadway Casino. I can only apologise for the delay in my joining your site, my excuse for the delay is, as i hope you can appreciate, i have been rushed off my feet getting it off the ground. After fighting my corner with the big bosses, they have realised the potential of our card room and the tide seems to be turning my way. i have trawled your site for the last few hours and would just like to pick up on a few points and questions that have been asked about our card room.

i would like to apologise to ifm and the wall and any other players confused about our ever changing programme. As we were starting afresh and i didn't know how many and the quality of poker staff we were opening with, i started with three no limit comps. one being a friday. i was told due to staffing levels being low that i must change this to a wednesday. i figured as all card rooms had a texas game on wednesdays, i would try an omaha comp. i can honestly hold my hands up and say catagorically IT WAS A FLOP (pardon the pun). i could go on and on about the reasons we chopped and changed. So to cut a long story short we have settled down now to a regular Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 20 no limit hold'em comp. However it has surpassed my expectations without any advertising to such an extent that after our Festival in September we will be running a 7 day programme. And plans to expand the card room have already been discussed. Once this is confirmed we will actively promote and inform all players on a regular basis of any changes to our programme.

Dress code-- Yes we do operate a strict dress code policy but not as strict as when we first opened, jeans are allowed as long as they are not ripped, we do not allow any sportswear although smart trainers are now accepted, I would urge anyone to turn up at least smart/casual to avoid disappointment.

Car Park facility-- Yes we pay for the car park, and I must say that it is the safest car park in the Midlands if not the U.K. on top of that there is a service to valet your car whilst you are in the casino during the Afternoon!

Foul Language and bad sportsmanship will not be tolerated, but fortunately all players seem to respect the atmosphere they play in, and players renowned for these offences have realised that this will be the heart of poker in Birmingham, and are not willing to jeopardise their membership. Although I am itching to make an example of someone lol.

Smoking-- Yes it is a non smoking competition, however we do give the option for no-smoking or smoking permitted cash games at either end of the card room.

Results and program can be found at www.thebroadwaycasino.com online applications are available at www.broadwaycasino.co.uk

Thats the Questions cleared up, but quite happy to answer any others or queries

I was highly amused at dani versaces attempt to sound like a customer saying that walsall had blown us out of the water on our opening competition. I also find it amusing that junction 10 when it first opened tried its damnedest to blow the rainbow away with guarantees, when it succeeded and it was the only venue in town it treated the customers like crap. The next guarantee was when we had guaranteed 10000 for an 80 seater 100 freeze out. They made a last minute guarantee of 15000 (funny that) and yet they still took 10% registration fee off their 189 players. So competiton actually increased their revenue and they made 1890 from you players!! Guess what, they have now have some guarantees. Maybe due to a plc being scared and head office allegidly telling J10 to do anything they can to "**** us up" I personally think this is fantastic for all card players. When their league is over i feel there will be some amazing money being splashed around to keep punters there. Waiting for the 2nd week in September to see what gem they come up with during our festival. Will they compete with Grosvenor Blackpools weekend?.....me thinks!

Yogi-- I do realise yours was already planned spoke to the Fox last night. I have also got 2 more CR managers/ head supervisors interested in meeting.

GEE GODS MY FINGERS ACHE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's me thinking I have progressed in the last 7 years ........... sigh

Hi everyone - Daniel here.  Still in shock after yesterday.

Mark, Scott, Antony, Jimmy and Matt (and everyone else on the final table) - you all played fantastic poker, it was just my lucky day.  It was a privilege to play on that table, some great poker and some great people.

Matt - that KQ v TT was the defining hand for me.  If the cards had been dealt the other way round it would have been you and Mark heads up (where again I was the lucky one with that last flop).

Got to thank Des, Tony, Mel and everyone else from the APAT for organising a cracking few days, and the same for the Broadway casino - excellent venue and it all ran very smoothly.

It was great to meet you all yesterday (including Ironside, who was absolute top quality), and look forward to meeting up again soon.  I didn't know about this place until yesterday  ;ashamed; - but I'll be spending a bit of time here from now on  if you don't mind?

:D

The forum is great guys - the PR is working.  After coming home to "work from home" at 3pm, I have just finished reading so many threads don't know howI lived without it - and done no work before the $100 rebuy on Prima started.

Anyway - I am off to Vegas on Tuesday - seat less for my frst WSOP - getting more excited by the min.  Can anyone help me with some info on the structure for Super Sats on Tues / Wdnes?  Only got a $10k bankroll and was relying on these.  Are they happening if a sell out? (Although I think that is the Harrahs PR Machine).  Whats the structure?  Likely runners?

Any info would be greatly received - plus some hints on navigating the minefield at Rio to register for these when I get there.

Cheers guys - hopeully see some of you out there

Blatant I thought I was good and off to Vegas....for the recors I did the $10k and owed Skalie a further $k in 10 days, happy days

Best first post ever?

Why is it that the annonimity that accompanies playing online induces the most deplorably reprehensible language and abuse from seemingly the preponderance of players.
insults that are nothing short of egreadious and would provoke substantial reaction if done in the bricks and mortar game are insouciantly conveyed at the drop of a hat precipitated by nothing more than a bad beat.a multitude of players are abusing the system thus, with compunction and impunity.
Are poker players inherintly contemptable and just very good at duplicitously fiegning humility and magnanomy in the real world only to asuage there anger and frustration by imparting the most pernicious inviduous insults when they get home and play online.
should there be a code of practice that precludes such behaviour and admonishes the perpertraitors with exclusion or suspension depending on the extent to which they have transgressed it?
the nefarious and cowardly element who i would propose never act thus offline, in fear of reprisal, should be filtered out so that human decency, prevalent decorum, and a propensity for reverence can flourish over individual site profit!

Good luck selling 60%.

You definetly didnt play this hand badly, you got it in with the best. In the long run you would beat the AQ a large majority of times. There are arguments about how to play the Kings:

If you just raise a large amount and let people holding AK, AQ, AJ etc.. see a flop, and they miss, you can move all in and if you have enough chips, get them off the hand without letting them hit on the turn or river. BUT, in most cases they won't hit on the turn or river anyway so it is best to maximise profit by getting all the money in pre flop.

The main reasoning for this is because if they don't hit on the flop they should fold to your bet and therefore you may not have made a lot of money out of your hand, therefore not playing your cowboys to their full potential.

If you have a short stack you should always go all in with the kings, if you have a large stack just a raise, and then leave the hand if you see an Ace on the flop.

Horneris.

Giving fantastic poker advice since June 2006.

Saturday was my second trip to DTD and was every bit as enjoyable (and profitable) as the first - the Blondes certainly added to the atmosphere  ;)

I'm not sure how much the bloke from Hale & Pace (I'm not good with names) added though...

The day my trip to DTD coincided with a Blonde Bash...

They seemed so pleasant and welcoming, I hadn't realised how drunk they were :)

2 players in after the flop
Player A bets 2500 all-in but he has acted out of turn and the bet is returned to him.
Player B bets 2500 and turns his cards over before Player A has the chance to act!
Card Room Supervisor is called over for a ruling

Player A has the option to do what he likes, though in this case he obviously cannot raise as he has no more chips to raise with. If he wishes to fold he may do so.

Player B should technically recieve a warning/penalty here for exposing his cards, but this would be a little harsh given he clearly doesn't understand the rule.

If a player bets out of turn (whether the bet is all in or not) then the bet stands, unless there is an agressive action before him (opening a round of betting, or raising). If such action takes place he has the option to now fold, call, or raise. If the action before him is non-aggressive (check/call) then his bet stands.

In this instance Player B should have checked, which would of forced Player A to go all in.

What a surprise. A ruling thread lol

Napoleons in Leeds have a £10 re-buy if you like sitting in a haze of cigarette smoke without being able to move in any direction for hours. You also have the added excitement of the obnoxious behaviour of some of the regulars.

It's worth going once just to see everything that is wrong with UK casino poker concentrated in such a small space.

Not the absolute first but it made me laugh remembering the "Good Old Days".
