Title: Re: DTD £300 Deepstack DECEMBER Post by: tikay on December 05, 2009, 02:49:30 PM Breaking news - & it's a stonker......
Tom The Super-Rock McCready is NOT playing this - he's in the Tournament of Champions at Luton. OFFICIAL CORRECTION. He IS playing this - he exited at Luton on the FIRST HAND. And NOT a bad beat. Has Tom EVER Busted first hand in a Biggie before? And, as he trundles up the M1 towards DTD to play this, what price the double? Out first hand in BOTH Comps? I fully expect a serious rubdown over the Microphone when Tom takes his seat. Sort it Kev, don't let me down. The exit - Tom had KQ, Villain had AQ, & the flop came Q high. Extraordinary. I gather Tom had his hand in the air when the money went in. It's catching. PS - Please put the Chef on alert. Key hand was such a farce that Kev refused to report it as nobody would believe him, so ill pass it on! SB Corrado raises to 100k at 15/30 on my BB. I jam and he snaps my hand off with 8c 9d for his remaining 310K. Pretty standard i believe after playing for 20 hours!?! 8s on the river for a 800k pot with 4 left, woulda put me on 1.4million and i feel i would have took it down from there. Felt pretty comfortable from 2 tables in, especially when i took Mr Rutter out who was playing excellently and taking all my spots! Still happy with 11k, a deal i would have laughed at if i was in the other 2 chip leaders spots but meh. See you all for the Monte Carlo, hope i can go 3 better ;D Mitch. To all u piss takers, get a life..... u know who u are!!! In regards to the bsq shirt, i paid £1060.00 for it, it wasn't given to me, also i dont work at a pizza shop, i help my sister out, which also is a break from the game. Lastly, in regards to the 77 v AA hand, the lad that had AA did exactly the same to the guy that had 77 when he was holding KK and flopped a 7 but then hit a KING!!! I just thought a taste ov his own medicne was in order, hence my out burst when i hit my 7!!!!!!! I have a huge passion for the game, for the 2nd year running my winnings total over 50k yet again, so obv im doing something right! I know you may have posted it with the heat of the moment but a word of advice, probably delete it and then re post in the morning something similar if you still feel the need. If someone did the same thing to you, 'because you did it before' you'd be peeved off and whats more you're setting a bad precedent for other players who will be watching and see it as ok to celebrate like they've just scored in the world cup final. Also, if you can't understand that, I think you're the narrow minded one. Can just picture him doing this in the dryist, slow pitched voice at the table....bit like the 'hand only wins at showdown with a slowroll' session we had at dtd on a tuesday night when u lot came straight from the airoirt after Ireland! hahaha The Stuart guys got some ribbing on here for a few reasons, and i also hate all the screaming and cheering when players hit a miracle card, but to be fair to him he took both hands at the final where he got unlucky well and didnt make any fuss. Don't know if this was because he was aware of the critisism on Blonde or not!? I stand by my comments on his behaviour at the table during the 77 v AA hand ... and if you read back through the updates, I also commented on the Alex Ives hand when he re binked the King when 77 hit first against him.... I despise bad etiquette at the poker table, it is NEVER justified (unless you are slowrolling Cos in which case it is just standard) FWIW Stuart took his beats on the final table like a man and left the final table with dignity. The blonde haters on facebook are in full flow I see ... all very amusing. I hope Stuart will take a few minutes for a chat with me at the next event where our paths cross, life is too short for petty squabbles and awkward atmospheres imo. Shame i couldnt seal the deal! See you all for the Monte Carlo, hope i can go 3 better ;D Mitch. wow, what a joke. UL mate, though top result! i thought that guy Corrado was a joke - i sat next to him for all of day 1. He took massive offence to me whenever I raised, gave me numerous rubdowns when i lost pots, and moaned throughout about his bad luck despite being absolutely golden. The fact that he turned the final table into a farce does not surprise me at all. He then later says on the final table that this money isn't anything to him, he is just doing it for his kids... WTF!! When he started going all in blind on the final 3 I believe he realised he was being outclassed and was in grave danger of making an idiot out of himself which what was growing to be quite a crowded rail. So his only way out of it was to pretend he didn't care anymore and just move in every hand blind. I admired Stu's game - it's aggro, & good - & my only bone of contention - which Stu will confirm I said directly to him, on numerous occasions - is that I'd rather like to see him smile a little more, take poker, & himself, a little less seriously. But there's no rule saying anyone should smile, or even look as if they are having fun. It'd be rather nice if there were, actually, but that's a very left-field view. He was a VERY tough oppo, & I was, & am, despite views to the contrary, a superb short-stack player. Plenty of practice, see, because I have such a weak-tight game. Oddly, I get to know players better whem I'm not playing them, just observing from the Rail, just watching the game dispassionately. Add up APAT, Virgin Fessies, SPUKT's, SPT's, & Sky Poker commentary stuff, & I've done more "observing" (& less playing recently!) than most. And I've watched Stu many, many times, from the rail, mainly in APAT Events - I particularly recall him running over the Table at the Dublin APAT in which Brendan finished 2nd iirc. His game was a cut above, & I like to see good game, but I was forever in fear of his stern face, & how it would affect the APA ethos. But he "warmed", & it was OK He's OK, but it's non-cool for youngsters to smile much these days. And you need to be extremely old to understand why. I qualify. As to the whole hoohah, I did not wanna get involved, it was banter from one side & uppity from the other. I just kept thinking "please stop digging". And then the perfect result - several peeps poured water on the fire, Stu fessed up, acknowledged, & everyone kissed & made up. The whole thing has uncanny paralels with the Bainn/blonde Bash saga - during which I sooooo wanted Bainn just to say "yup, I got it wrong, I'm sorry", & all wouilda been well, he'd be back in the fold, & all would be well, & Harmony would have been released from her embarrassment at the mess. It's not generally realised, the extraordinary power of "yup, I got that one wrong, I'm sorry". That's strength, power, not weakness. Just cos someone else does it doesn't mean you gotta lower your standards to their level. Saw a guy bink quads on the river to outdraw a set (same tourney) and he was straight round the table to shake the other guy's hands - no drama, just felt for the player and how sick he must feel. Very classy guy IMO. Norrrrrrrrr - this tilts me way more than table bangers. It's the ultimate rubdown - 'not only did I suck out on you but I am now going to patronise you by pretending to empathise whilst I internally fistpump' Just scoop up the chips as if it was a hand where you just picked up the blinds and get on with the game. this was simon deadman. he was not being patronising, it was clear from his face (and from his personality to those who know him) that he clearly felt awful for the other guy. simon is a classy player and a top guy, to suggest otherwise is ridiculous Title: Re: DTD £300 Deepstack DECEMBER Post by: tikay on December 08, 2009, 03:41:54 PM Table bangers are many people's pet hate. Title: Re: DTD £300 Deepstack DECEMBER Post by: Sonor99 on December 08, 2009, 05:39:15 PM Table bangers are many people's pet hate. It's the ultimate rubdown - 'not only did I suck out on you but I am now going to patronise you by pretending to empathise whilst I internally fistpump' Just scoop up the chips as if it was a hand where you just picked up the blinds and get on with the game. this was simon deadman. he was not being patronising, it was clear from his face (and from his personality to those who know him) that he clearly felt awful for the other guy. simon is a classy player and a top guy, to suggest otherwise is ridiculous I was the one on the wrong end of that beat...! I agree, under the circumstances it was a reasonable thing to do and despite being a little shell shocked when i departed the table with a bemused look, i was grateful that Simons response was to ackowledge his good luck with some obvious empathy. I would have preferred for him to go on and win then send me a massive cheque but that didnt happen.... Just to be clear, I wasn't explicitly referring to the hand from the weekend (as I wasn't there) but talking about my general experience of the hand-shakers. All luck in poker, whether good or bad, should be treated with indifference.
