Haven't looked at odds or anything. But I seem to recall a few years back about the snooker and late night finishes.
Williams' match finished late and was a gruelling affair. He'll be feeling it most of tomorrow I'd imagine. Surely we have to bet on Higgins to win the 1st session and also play on it being 7-1 or 6-2 or if you love to punt then 8-0?
Thoughts?

Good to see you're still about mate. Throwing in the big boy games in Barca because why not eh?
Just to add to Das's question -
Favourite Luton Player: John The Pen.
I used to really enjoy playing the Saturday 2pm £30er where he would kick off at someone to the point the floor had to come and have a word with him, bust after first break and have to sit in the corner all night while his daughter did her ladybollocks on the fruities. No idea if he's still with us because he always sounded like he was a stiff cough from snuffing it, but I always thought he was alright for a miserable old bugger.
Favourite Luton Moment:
There was some fella throwing money over the roulette on a table he had to himself. Word was he had shat off the better part of £20,000 before giving up. Probably hard to get out of at that point when it was £100 max on a number. The pit boss told him he could cool off in the restaurant and they'd bring him some food. 15 minutes later he is screaming bloody murder because they bought him a steak and chips, and he was a vegan. What a needle.

If you see Panos, tell him Harry says hello and let him know I'm in Liverpool now.
I got your PM, I'll give you a shout pal. I've got some wacky stories to tell you.
Nice to hear from you Bud. It's been way too long. I look forward to hearing your stories, I've got a few of my own. If there are any GPS stocks around Liverpool I will be sure to give you a shout if I'm in the area. Make sure you text me... I know what you are like! I loved John the Pen, I remember we made a personal deal when we both made the final table. He had a lot going on, I knew him from outside of poker due to his nephew and I used to play YU-GI-OH as kids. Das- If you are about, Fancy giving me a lift to Luton now I live in MK? No shoving 100BB in the first level though pre flop, I wouldn't want you hanging around for me after or getting a taxi back. If I was around then I wouldn't mind playing taxi for you. Problem is I've recently been made redundant and have taken a part time bar job to keep some money coming in. Where I've been on night shift for 3 years solid I've told them to keep putting me on the close. Problem is after a week and a half they've realised I'm better than most the current staff so put me on almost every day! The days I'm not working I have pre planned stuff that I do every week. Next time I'm free and can play a night of poker I'll deffo drop you a pm and can sort from there. What is the mk casino like? (Not just for poker, just in general as well) been meaning to go up there ever since it opened!

Actually scrap that, few years back when they had the 25p/25p table just outside the poker room by the side of the pit. Span a fiver up to 125+ from mostly playing all in spins with a few of the other cash game regs waiting for seats/new table to be opened up on the 1/1 or 1/2 tables. Dread to think what some of those guys were thinking on that table.
Raise to 75p, call, call, re-raise to £2, fold, fold, all in to £5, call £5, all in to £70, call, call, call, call, call £70.
By the time that table broke it was probably one of the bigger cash tables of the night in terms of stacks!

Indulge me if you will...
Favourite Luton legend? Favourite Luton moment?
Chandiler and his brother. Learning to play poker 10 years ago in a 20 rebuy event after watching Chandiler lose 2k on Roulette. How about you Das? Hard to say for legend, love yannick and his cash games, hate his ability to always hit! Favourite moment is even harder to say! For a blonde connection I would say calling down nirvana(I think) in the old £5 rebuy at bury park with J high and being good. What a place to learn the game!

How does sharing tips work at casinos? Is there a national standard or does it vary by location/operator? Does everyone get an even share or is it apportioned by hours worked or is there a seniority multiplier used?
JOOI, how much would the average dealer at a regional casino make in a month? I presume it would be more in London?
Was speaking to a coiuple of the bar staff at the Luton G the other day. From what I can recall they said all the tips got divvied up based on hours worked across the week. That was for all stsff with all tips, so bar staff got a share of thr floor and vice versa. Can't remember if they said was a bit different for the poker room staff or not as I was rather intoxicated at the time. Sure they said they got around £150ish a month in tips

It works really well doesn't it?
Decisions are generally right using the VAR?
TV broadcasts seem intent on calling VAR decisions and the time they take 'controversies' when what they really mean is we needed the controversies that bad decision making brought so we could talk about it for days. Now they are getting them right we will pretend that adding 5 mins in added time per half is really bad in exchange for getting the decisions right.
Any fan that goes to a match or watches one on TV that has the VAR system but still complains knowing there is likely to be 5-10 minutes added to each half just needs to wake up IMO. The right decisions are being made. Why does it matter if a half of football last for 50 or 55 minutes in those games?
isnt it incredible that a sport/Fans/TV channels that have complained for years over bad decisions changing games are now complaining because the decisions are now being made correctly but it takes 5 minutes?
A 1hour NFL game takes 3 hours to play. And people are moaning because as 90 minute football match might take 100 minutes to play but be reffed in a much fairer way. How does that make sense?
Any football decision that takes more than about 10 seconds is almost certainly not achieving the objective which was to overturn ridic decisions. Spending 2 mins trying to determine if someones thigh is offside is just changing the game too much imo. It actually ruins the watching and I can't see how any person who actually likes watching football could think otherwise If you're a fan attending the games you really don't spend yr money to watch the ref fk about and adding 10 mins to 'correct' such marginal decisions doesn't add anything to the game or the spectacle. NFL is a game of a hundred set plays, like cricket, like Baseball, of course no one cares if it takes 3 hours because that's the norm. It might turn out fine but needs a lot of tweaks to make it worth the intrusion The time it takes was precisely the problem I could see with VAR all along. In pretty much every game something like this has been introduced to it has started out as being something to avoid obvious errors but has ended up being routinely referred to make sure wrong decisions don't get made at all; the faster the game is to start with the more impact this is going to have. Compare the attitude from before it was introduced: The International Football Association Board (IFAB) – the body that makes rule-changing decisions in the sport – explains their aim is “not to achieve 100% accuracy for all decisions” but rather to swiftly remedy clear mistakes in match-changing situations With Mourinho's comment a couple of weeks ago It was close. There are teething problems with VAR - but if it takes 20 minutes, that's how long it should take. I think if the idea that VAR has to be 100% correct takes hold then it's just going to get worse and worse - they really should be trying to steer it back to the original idea of fixing clear errors to keep the game on track. how or who refers it in the instance of a "clear" error? it's only clear to us as we get to see it over and over from different angles.

I was really surprised to see several incidents following a "miss", where the balls needed replacing in their original position.
The camera cut to the lady "Marker", who had several monitors & freeze frames available to her so she could see where the balls originally were.
She was beckoning with her hand in the air to the referee.....
Up a bit...but more, left a bit - no, your left not my left ....that's it - up a bit - no down a bit.....bit more, whoa, too much....
Ugh, this is 2018 & they were faffing about like it was 1950. It was an embarrassment.
Just juxtapose 2 freeze-frames on top of each other & have a white circle where the ball should be, job done.
In one of the tournament's I was watching that took place in China they had a screen with flashing white crosses for when the ball was in correct position. So all the ref did was ask for it to be brought up on screen and he simply nurdled the balls until all the little crosses were flashing. Makes loads more sense and took half the amount of time to get it right

Yo, snookerati: http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=56581.msg2211979#msg2211979Let's hear your views on this tip, please. Now old Willy Thorne his hair's all gone And his mates all take the rise His opponent said cover up his head Cos it's shining in my eyes When the light shines down on his bare crown It's a cert he's gonna walk it It's just not fair giving off that glare 'Perhaps I ought to chalk itTough one really. He hasn't played at all well recently and I don't see him suddenly "finding" it again. His long game has left him and he was always one who relies on his long game to get in and make frame winning contributions. In my opinion his safety game isn't up there with some of the top top guys which is why he always went for the long pots to get in and score. Without that at his disposal he becomes a very weak player. Some of the misses I saw him making he was no where near to potting. Almost as bad as some of Trump's misses the other day

Poker Forums / Live poker / Poker in York area

Hi there,
I'm going to be in York on the 24th/25th of this month. I'm free Friday 24th night and there is a chance I may be free late on Sat 25th. I know there's no casino's in York, so does anyone have any idea what is one offer in the surrounding areas? Looking for both MTTs (for the Friday) and cash for either/both nights as well, ideally something fun as i'll be well in beer on both nights but willing to pay if there is a decent game.
Need to be able to get to/from York via public transport (last/first train of night is fine)
Any help appreciated
Thanks
