On a recommendation, I've started drinking ginger and green tea. It apparently helps with painful joints etc. I've been able to resume weight training and running again but that might be due to me laying off it a while. Will keep drinking it cos I'm happy being back training.

Heard you played the APAT at DTD the other week. I bust fairly early on day 1 and after a quick scan around a full casino, I couldn't see or hear you so decided to get on my merry way. Hope you faired better than I did.

Haven't been over for nearly 3 years, but need to make a trip out before 2028 to keep my 'comp' status alive with MLife.
Will next door be doing anything this summer around the WSOP?
Will likely only pop over for a week, but will probably plan it around something in the WSOP as I'm in Cardiff when the UFC card is on.
Hi Mark. I retired last May so I've no idea what Sky Poker's Vegas plans are this year. They still invite me to SPT's which is very kind of them, so if I get another invite in the near future (if indeed SPT's continue) I'll ask. I plan to go across though, hopefully the same sort of thing as last year, 3 or 4 weeks whilst the various Omaha stuff is on, mainly Big O & a bit of Mixed Game stuff, which I've become partial to, especially 2-7 Triple Draw & the like. I'd book it now if I could, but it depends when my favoured stuff will be running. Last year they front-loaded the Series with all the Big O & Omaha Mix stuff & the other Rooms all followed suit, so it was perfect for me, & I'm hoping very much they do the same this year. I have no interest in playing any NLH over there (maybe a Seniors or two but that's it) as I'm completely shite at NLH & it does not give me the buzz & zing that the Big O & Mixed Game stuff does. All health permitting, obv, but at the mo I seem to be in acceptable if not decent nick. How are you coping these days? Staking thread deets please.

In the World Matchplay last night, & it was Luke Littler v Josh Rock.
It was a treble-fest, & between them, they scored 29 x 180's, 80 x 140's & 146 x 100's.
In one leg, BOTH players threw 6 perfect darts, Littler went 60, 60, 60, Rock went 60,60,60, then Littler went 60, 60, 60 & Rock followed suit, 60, 60, 60. Rock was denied his chance of a 9 darter though as Littler checked out with his next 3 darts for a 9-darter.
There's no way a 9 darter is more difficult than a Hole In One or a 147.
THE perfect leg of darts- https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DAcL6bRdbO-4%26pp%3D0gcJCfwAo7VqN5tD&ved=2ahUKEwif_cKi1dyOAxXDVkEAHSIlDCkQwqsBegQIDBAE&usg=AOvVaw2OloJxAFed8TOMhhn3Spkh

Depends on whether you class a hole in one as skill or luck? Anyone can hit a hole in one(luck)but at the same time skilled professional players can go ages with getting one. It takes real skill to to hit a 147 and a 9 darter(there's no fluking either). 36 perfect shots for a 147 or 9 perfect darts so my thoughts are 147,9 darter then hole in one.

3 years ago I was able to run ten miles with 35lbs on my back. Then my knee injury occurred, I've had surgery last year and I'm over 16 stone. So, to counter this I've joined a boxing gym last week. I'm also hopefully going to do a White Collar boxing match in December. Enjoying what I've done so far and it's also got me back weight training and diet has improved. Not sure if it's the sort of thing a 52yo should be doing however I've paid my subs and I'm too tight to let that money go begging.

Have played a bit with Will. Agree it looks like he went over the top, but do you think the wsop floor treated him unfairly/ out of line with the shot clocks / penalties etc?
I think he has brought it upon himself with his constant antics.

https://www.pokernews.com/news/2025/07/kassouf-escorted-banned-wsop-main-event-2025-49158.htmI'm pleased that this has happened. For me, he tries to be as obnoxious as possible within the rules and norms of poker. He genuinely makes people not enjoy the game and his actions are very much against the spirit of the game. Now a precedent has been set, he'll think about how he can proceed at the next poker table he plays on. However, I doubt it very much. You only have to listen to his exit from the casino to see his take on the situation/poker/life. Gd riddance
