Wonder if the WSOP will be moving, with GG agreeing to buy it from Caesars for $500m.
Retain hosting rights for 20 years as part of the deal. Interesting to see how that plays out. Have to imagine Daniel will get an even bigger input on the schedules going forward. If he does every bloody comp will be unlimited re-entry for 2 days.

Betfair has Conservative seats 100-149 favourite.
They currently have 345
Less than 50 seats is 12/1 currently
Johnson's 2019 coalition involved adding "red wall" Leave voters focussed on Brexit while retaining "blue wall" Remain Cons who saw Corbyn as a bigger threat. Brexit and Corbyn now both "gone" as issues, and the bill for this strategy is coming due...
the red wall is going red again the blue wall is going yellow
I far prefer Con less than 100 seats to more than 200 on 4th July.
I have moved to a coastal constituency which is currently a 20k Conservative majority. They've picked a young Labour candidate who ordinarily would be a no-hoper but they think its neck and neck this time
Sunak was canvassing yesterday in Bosworth, an old constituency of mine...26,000 majority.......normally there would be no need for him to visit there...
great yarmouth?.....always wondered if elections are more interesting in a marginal or swing seat, lived in a safe labour seat all my adult life so elections tend to be mundane I would imagine you would feel like your vote is worth more in a swing seat. Sadly for me I've always lived in safe Labour seats when growing up and even during the Brexit years. Now it's even worse, I'm in the safest of safe Sinn Fein seats so not only is there no anticipation for me of an upset, I know my area isn't even going to have an MP that takes a seat!

Sean Belton.
He did a wonderful diary on here a few years ago, brutally honest and self-deprecating, such a talented writer.
I re-read it last week, it covered his attempt to make it as a pro poker player, his health, fitness and diet regime and his marriage to girlfriend Beth.
I was quite involved by the time he signed off somewhat suddenly around the beginning of 2014 and I wonder how things turned out. Did he become a graphic designer, a personal fitness coach, the head of MI5 or what?
It would be great to hear from the man himself but any update would be appreciated.
Seen him after lockdown dealing at DTD a few times, but Pops' update above is more recent. With most of the jobs you referenced above, gonna take a guess that lockdown/restrictions set him (and others) back a lot.

At the end of 2023, when the Media do their "Most Iconic Images of 2023" this will be #1. Describe this image in one word. Click to see full-size image. |
I would, but I'd probably get banned for what I want to say. So I'll just go with "covfefe"

Funnily enough I was just thinking about the lack of posts this morning. Then my mind wandered and now I am wondering about the answer to a question that has intrigued me occasionally. Who was spacefrog?

And yes, Half Kill games are enormous fun. I've never seen Kill or Half Kill games in the UK, and have no idea what games they apply to - is it only 08 & the other split pot games? And - sheer guess this - but did you first encounter Kill games during your Canadian odyssey? I'm guessing Limit poker is or was the norm in the USA & Canada at the time. It's pretty big now if the Orleans is any guide, there are always 15 or 20 Limit cash games on the go.
It's any Limit game. Doesn't work in any other type of NL/PL. I know at Orleans in the LHE games the kill is activated if you win two or three pots in a row (think its two) but not sure how it s activated in split pot games. http://www.poker-vibe.com/poker/terms/kill-pot/

Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Vegas Trip Information for anyone looking to go this year.

People always laugh at me when I say this but given prices at the moment, I'd be factoring in a couple of nights in Dublin either side of a Vegas trip nowadays.
Yes you won't save much unless you're willing to go UK-DUB-STOP-LAS on the same day (which I do and dont recommend unless you love flying, its tough) but at least the £300 you'd save on the flight you get to spend on beer and food and having a good time rather than the UK Govt and Woolly Jumper's pocket.
Plus if your 1 stop is somewhere like Dallas, LA, San Fran or Denver (or anywhere in the US rather than Heathrow/Amsterdam) you get to go through US Security at Dublin before you board and just walk off the plane at the other end.
On the other hand, sometimes its just worth it to fly direct. Especially with BA where you dont land til 8pm in the evening at Vegas and as such, the time difference isnt as bad.
