Yeah staying injury-free and doing 3x45min sessions a week right now is as good as anything I've ever done. Just need to keep reminding myself of that.

I did my back in at the end of last year (pretty sure I slipped a disc) and messed up my shoulder in February (still undiagnosed, need to try and get an MRI scan) so I was off games for quite a while.

Been building back slowly for 6 weeks now and starting to feel like I'm getting somewhere. Deadlift back upto 100kg but still taking squats very carefully and not doing much over 90kg.

Weight is stubbornly high at 85kg - need to get some more discipline from somewhere but I am starting to enjoy workouts more now.

Well done to everyone doing this!

There is so much advice and (mis)information about so try not to be overwhelmed - there is no one-size-fits-all approach.

If you can analyse what you "want" long-term and try to make sustainable changes then success will be easier to achieve.

What eventually worked for me was realising that I have a huge appetite and will never be able to do what Stuart says above and have smaller portions at dinner - I tried this for ages and made myself miserable depriving myself. I switched to eating low-calorie filling foods like raw fruit and veg and led to sustainable weight loss and changes for me. It wasn't as nice as pasta or chips but I felt full and could stay under calorie goals.

Great stuff. The best type of weight loss is slow and sustainable through lifestyle change. Keep it up!

Strange few weeks for me.

Gym membership expired and want to move flat/change jobs before committing to a new one

Having some trouble with work which has affected me and let myself take too long off and having to rebuild a routine.

In the meantime my shoulder hasn't got better and feels frozen/extremely tight - am seeing a physio early next week

On a positive note, back running and started playing squash with  friends twice a week. It's incredibly taxing and a lot of fun making lots of progress as a beginner.

Fantastic first day for Tom

The last 3 events suit him as well right?

What is the reason for the WSM TV contract/schedule to be like it is? It's really fucking annoying.

Not much going on, I have been busy studying for an exam and I find running more of a break during such times.

Got some Adidas Powerlift shoes and they feel great. 115kg 3x4 squats felt good this week.

I had some Pfizer yesterday. Got a link through whatsapp on Friday about a centre in Catford giving them out to anyone who rang up and lo and behold it was true. There were loads of us from all over London.

They also booked my next appointment for 4 weeks time which is very quick I thought. My mate who got his earlier in the week through his GP has it booked for 10 weeks.

How's everyone getting on? I've been bro'ing around not on a programme as I keep getting a twinge whenever bench gets above warm-up weight - everything else is fine so just lol'ing about. Squat is heading in the right direction finally - sent 110kg for some triples this week.

Creatine is having a massive effect in giving a boost. +4kg in a month!

Looking to invest circa £50 in my first ever proper lifting gear and wondering what should I go for first - shoes, belt, straps or something else?

Heart says FA Cup

Head/Money says top 4

All about the ££££££££ now unfortunately. Actually winning something seems more and more irrelevant.

Yeah this. We've all been brainwashed. Sad.

The only good thing about Arsenal's top4 trophy days were the final match hilarities with Sp*rs. Everything else surrounding it was cack.

FA Cup wins were the joy of fandom.
