Do we think ‘charge’ means any admin / entry fee that is retained by the organiser, or does it include the total fee that will be paid back out in prizes?  I would have thought the spirit of the rule is to stop people charging entry / admin fees rather than spoiling everyone’s £20 a season punt with their work mates etc.

Oh Greg.  Lips Sealed

A reminder I'm only in the LMS league for admin purposes.

One of those weeks!

RESULT:

Tea For The Tieleman 52 vs 60 40-Year-Old Virgil

Congrats to Rob M on winning the Champions League Final, commiserations to Greg, who has no doubt added Pope to a long list of FPL players he will never own again.

More... learned my lesson on him and not messing about with GK transfers!

And also dino is only in it to administer it so he doesn’t count either.

Surely the triple-triple bingo is either "On" or it isn't, whereas the hole in one is always on.

What I mean is, and I'm guessing here, on the average course there must be about 6 or so greens where a hole in one is a possibility, but in most games of Scrabble, a triple-triple bingo is not.

Usually four or five short holes on a golf course.

Someone opens the outside at some point in scrabble and as long as there is one tile on the outside with the trebles open it's on.

I've had one career triple-treble and no holes-in-one but I've probably played a hundred times as many rounds of golf.

Even my Dad has had a hole in one, Ralph! Get a grip! :-)  He’s been playing over 60 years, very regularly so it surprises me he hasn’t had more.  I know of terrible golfers that have had double figures and outstanding golfers with only 1 or 2 to their name.

On the scrabble comparison, I’d say the scrabble one is harder due to multiple different factors and variables.  Golf presents more regular and consistent opportunities despite other variables - in that every course has at least 3 opportunities, even for the average golfer. What’s more, you can get lucky holes-in-one whereas to get a triple-treble requires a lots of skill and not much luck.

That’s my take anyway being alot more knowledgable on one of the games than the other but reasonably proficient at both.

Going to be a funny GW this!!

Hoping the City game gets re-arranged inside this gameweek.

Did we not lose anyone in the LMS? It seems we are a couple or three too many for the amount of gameweeks left?
Hey Greg,

I hadn't updated in for the GW25 loss, that has now been done and I am only in the league for admin as I've already been eliminated.

By my calculations, the league should be down to the final three for GW38, which means I've messed up somewhere as it should be the final two. I'm reluctant to do a double elimination as it's been single elimination all the way.

You’re the boss! ;-)

Difficult game to get good at if you don't start young, so good luck.

My main tip is to enjoy it and try to get better every single time you play - it looks like you’re doing that already.

P.s. I know a guy called Mark Porter who plays for our county and is excellent at the game and hits it further than i go on my holidays these days so it’s a good name for the game!

P.s. my other tip is don’t get carried away with all the marketing hype on equipment - whilst you’re learning, you don’t need much to get started.

A low scoring week meant it was very tight in LMS.

Martin Sutcliffe's 33 did everyone else a favour, including Gazza and Greg who survived by a solitary point.

LMS is my only remaining interest (apart from my long standing annual £20 match bet with Karabiner) so I am glad about that).

Good recovery btw!!

Absolutely hating this season. Close to tilting!

I think my only focus now is the LMS.

Here’s to a better 2nd half of the season.

Think I survive on goals scored this week, despite my 4 point hit. What an absolute horror show of a gameweek!!
Hey Greg,
The first tiebreaker in LMS this season is points scored in the previous gameweek. You squeaked in via that metric too.

Ouch!  Tight then.

It’s your good self on the tightrope this week! Who’d have thunk it?!
