why do cash games keep getting mentioned? surely stars private HU tournies can run with 2 players?
Just logistics and covenience really. Not everyone has the ability to create them (I don't) and if I remember my conversation with the Duke correctly, you have to set them up an hour in advance. Whereas you can just sit-out at a cash table and wait for the other person to find you.
At the moment, I'm thinking have a couple of the PokerStars multi-player heads-up tournies; one this Tuesday (to keep Suzanne off me back

) and one on the 28th.
Then for those that want to play it, set up the original group/knockout competition. Everyone pays $10 entry to be paid 70:30 to winner & runner-up. I'll just sort out who plays who then it's up to each particular pairing where they play, whether it's a tournies or cash table, how many games, what buy-in with the loser to post the outcome.
If player transfers are itemised clearly on Poker Stars so it's easy to know who's paid, I'm happy to act as a 'banker' for the entry fees. If someone else wants to do it that's fine too.
If it ever gets off the ground

and it looks like having a reasonable number of participants, I'll get a trophy and we can make it an annual Christmas event
