One pair is not a big enough hand to call for your whole stack in a NL cash game. Not even an overpair.

I have learnt this the hard way three times this week

Overpairs are killers, you get reraised and you just can't stop yourself wanting to know what the f the bugger has called you with

it varies, flopping straights with 85 and hitting non nut flush draws covers the rest  Cheesy

Ok the river is just plain sick and unlucky. I don't understand why you didn't bet the flop, you are not slowplaying here surely and letting an ace or king drop. Or do you really think your behind which is an amazing read. Apart from that i think your line in this hand is pretty much perfect and your certainly unlucky with that river.

I agree that overpairs are hard to laydown , I have lost a buyin many times on a cash table with them, . ITs tough to remember that one pair is pretty close to the bottom of the poker ladder and the average winning hand is 2 pair.

Snoop dont take too much from this hand . I have just reread the thread and really its just a blip , a crazy hand . His bet of $4 on the flop into a pot of $23 is difficult to read as is his flat call with KK pre flop most players reraise here. You say that you wont call an all in on the flop but later you state that you think you are ahead. I think that you should reraise on the flop (if only for the fact that a $4 bet is annoying) , if your intention is to slowplay then I think it is a little risky with qq if an A drops on the turn what then ? From the turn the hand obviously plays itself and he hits on the river but you did have him calling and only drawing to 2 outs which is great.
Just a bizzare hand.

I think the river call by you is amazingly restrained. Well done.

Am I being retarded here?

What the FK happened on the turn?

snoopy1239 checks.
dirk222 bets [$6].
snoopy1239 raises [$30].
dirk222 raises [$48].
snoopy1239 raises [$48].
dirk222 calls [$24].

So you check, He bets $6, you raise to $30, he 3B to $48, then what the fuck happens?

Why are we not c-betting this flop too? when we c/c and check turn why are we 4B shoving after he 3Bs?

:/
