Bon soir Ironside!  Tikay sends his greetings too - as far as Padraig is concerned, not here.  Surprising, perhaps, but true.

John Gale has been moved to Andy Black's table two to his right.   They are chatting away and look rather relaxed.

The guy between them is an American named Steve Worr, and he just doubled up getting his all-in on a board of As 10s Ah called by AQ when he held 10 10.  Don't know the doubler-up's name as yet.

More counts starting with the perilously low stacks:
Howard Lederer   2,600
Tony G               5,000
John Gale            5,000
Willie Tann          9,200
Stuart Nash        32,000
Dave Colclough    10,000
Andy Black          29,000
Tony Bloom        12,900
Martin De Knijff   16,200
Mike Magee        18,175
Surinder Sunar     16,500
Nabil Ayoubi         35,000
Steve Worr         25,000

81 runners apparently started today, and just one table so far is broken.  The surprise no-shows and mystery late registerers have made this number hard to pin down but Rolf says it's 160 total so 160 total it is.

Carlo has, he tells, me, "about 16,725". Very precise, our Carlo.

Looks like he's had a haircut recently, very smart. Deffo not from "the bloke down the market for 50p". He has this beautiful diamond encrusted Rolex, I keep offering him 25 for it. "You'll be right son". I take that as a no, then.

Thanks Ironside. Was it a New Member?

I should explain that Ironside "helps out around here" in many ways, & has the ability & authority to deal with spammers. As we get bigger, I guess spamming & flaming becomes a greater problem, but we will continue to be ruthless. This is a comfy place to be, & ithat's the way so many of you want to keep it.

Another big pot between Roy Brindley and Alexander Kuzmin.  Roy all-in, this time pre-flop for about 8,000 holding pocket Jacks. Alexander calls and the whole board comes out starting with a J, and then A K 8 3, doubling him up to around 17,000.

Howard Lederer appears to have busted out. He walked away from the table with a very forlorn look on his face. He is a big, BIG man, looks like a one-time NFL player.

Carlo is fast asleep.

Dave Colclough is idly reading a poker mag, but he's moved up to about 12k. Must have been a good read.

That's him Robert, Mr Ruskie. Nice lad, as it happens. I met him in St Petersburg in May last year. Fearsome table presence, never smiles, it's not a game to enjoy, for him. Nice lad though, handsome in a Russian sort of way. Due to start shaving soon, I reckon.
