Which one and why?

I love the convinience and choice online but the atmosphere live is brilliant.  The slower speed live is better for learning too although online you can pull up hand histories and study.

Difficult to choose.  Bit like "Shall I take the Porsche or the Ferrari today?"  Both great at the same thing but totally different way of doing it.

if i lived near a casino i would prefer playing live, but the internet cuts down on the expenses involved in travelling and you can get a game 24/7.
and although i do travel to a lot of festivals and tourny's, it is in my capacity as a proffessional railbird lol.... my bankroll doesnt allow me to play big comps, but my ability is there Wink

B&M Love the banter at a table, better structure and sometimes the buffet is better than the leftovers in the fridge.

Also easier to see what the others are up to, harder to read others online.

Is it just me who thinks you more often than not get a better structure online?

For me online is the bread and butter. Three times as many hands per hour on each table. Nine times as many hands if 3-tabling.

As for the difference in blind structure, I'm sure that the strucures are better online when you consider you are being dealt 60-70 hands per hour (on Pokerstars), compared to live where you can expect to see 20-25 per hour. So a 15 minute blind level online is equivalent to a 45 minute blind level live in terms of number of hands seen per level.

If I was a recreational player then yes live can be more fun for sure. But in terms of making money, online wins hands down.

I've just analysed where my earnings have come from in the last year, if anyone wants a read there should be a link to my blog in my profile. I hope this doesn't count as spamming  Huh?

Live all the way. there are so many more facets to the live game you don't get online but far less so the other way round.

Such as what Adam?

Apart from physical tells, you must be referring to things such as the stench emanating from the person sat next to you, the player who repeatedly exposes his hole cards when folding, the misdeals and scream-ups?

Hands per hour and the ability to multi-table, and not having to sit around a table with any unsavoury characters, plus the earn factor, makes online far superior, for me at least.

you definitely have a point about the smells and the screaming but it's more than just physical tells. it's getting a feel for peoples styles and personalities, getting to act and to deceive. getting to blend into the backgroud or take over the table much more than online. getting to look into someones eyes when you're sure they're passing a better hand and knowing you have a player beat in hands not yet dealt. gathering for a final table and getting to physically check out your opponents.

Live play for me personally is a far greater experience and something I strive to be very good at. Live I hurt when I loose but am high when I win. Online I dislike the experience win or loose (although obviously less so if I wn big)

not same chap then,    the guy i was chatting to had played the EPT event in dublin, and as we were in the departure lounge who should be on the same plane ...... Jeremy Beadle, who was sitting quietly minding his own business when a group of about 6 Irish lads walked past and spotted him... one of them says " oh look theres jeremy beadle" to which one of the other lads pipes up..."Jeremy you stumpy fingered f***er, How the f*** are ya" Mr. Beadle ( much to his credit) remained composed and waved to the lads, said hello and carried on as if nothing had happened.

Myself and the guy i was chatting to spent the next 10 minutes trying to supress fits of giggles.

Perhaps its one of those stories where you had to be there Undecided
