Welcome to the league:
As of today the blondepoker league begins! The league is going to run for four weeks using the events listed below only. The final league night of THIS league is Thursday 15 June. Only your top 8 most valuable scores will count towards the final league standings.
The points will be awarded as follows as follows:
Finishing position Points
1 10 2 8 3 7 4 6 5 5 6 4 7 3 8 2 9 1
Points will then be multiplied by the number of entrants to give a larger weighting to comps with more runners.
So for example:
Player X wins a 15 player comp and get 150 points. Player Y comes 3rd in a 20 player comp and gets 140 points.
The tournaments: _________________________________________________________________
Starting today and every Monday thereafter at 8PM BST:
$10 NLHE freezeout - "bounty special" - 15 minute level up on the blinds.
$25 bounties on El Blondie and tikay. ________________________________________________________________
Starting Weds 24th and every Wednesday thereafter 7PM BST:
$5 NLHE freezeout - 15 minute level up on the blinds.
________________________________________________________________
Starting Thurs 25th and every Thursday thereafter 9PM BST:
$3 NLHE rebuy (with rebuys for 20 mins) - 15 minute level up on the blinds.
________________________________________________________________
The prizes are as follows:
3rd Prize - blonde merchandise - $50 into BPL account
2nd Prize - Ron Rose book "Poker Aces" signed by Dave Colclough - $100 into BPL account
1st Prize - An hour of questions and answers in person with Dave "El Blondie" Colclough at bB3 answering your questions at any level and using practical examples. Plus $100 into your BPL account, blonde merchandise and a "Poker Aces" book signed by Dave Colclough as well!
N.B. Please note that due to the wide range of skill levels of blondeites who may win, the winner of the comp should have questions lined up to ask Dave in a Q&A format at bB3, as Dave doesn't want to teach you things that are not relevant to you and your level of poker.

Thanks for nudging up the blinds from 12 minutes to 15 minutes. I'd better see you there! May as well have called them "floppy" blind levels.

I don't like the scoring system.
Someone who wins a 20 player comp should get more points than some who finishes 10th in a 30 player comp.

As I spotted the problem, I will contribute a potentail solution for discussion.
How about a system where set points are give to the top 9 finishers in an event.
These points are then multiplied by the number of entrants.
Finishing position Points
1 10 2 8 3 7 4 6 5 5 6 4 7 3 8 2 9 1
Then multiply the points awarded by the number of runners to give more weight to those comps with larger fields.

Good point Mr Key (if that is your real name!)
I want to reward regular runners though. People who play all 12 comps deserve points also.

Make all points count, not just the best X results. Give anyone that plays 9 or more events a free blonde T-shirt. Throw in a cap if they play all 12.
If someone plays all 12 and gets no points then maybe they don't deserve them. Communism and poker do not mix well....

I see your point but some people wont want to pay $20 odd bucks per week to play all the events before rebuys. Some people simply wont be able to make all of the events. So it will definately be the top 8 scores rewarded in the interest of fairness. The real test is to try and get people rewarded for regular play AND for winning.
