Agreed, but why not make that part of the package and make the investment too?

The midlands had to be the right answer with the road network for a national stadium.

Where though? Pick a spot with a large international airport hub, shed loads of hotels and a decent public transport system.

i think the remotest place in britain should get the super casino as the casino will not offer good service to poker players so personally i dont want it anywhere near a casino that has a good card room

50% of the super casino floor space has to be offering NON gaming options as in resturant and entertainment meaning the 50% of the floor space they do have they will want to fill with cash cows so that they can get money off the diners and music goers, as they have already got 50% of the floor space attracting customers to the casino you think they will offer more space too a card room which we all know is a lose leader to get poker players in to play the magic rounderabout and the blackjack

keep the supercasino as far away from decent casinos as you can IMHO

They did it with the Olympics, Millennium Dome, Wembley ..........

Yeah crazy putting wembley in London.....Cheesy

Does this mean Brighton is no longer on the list?

Brighton didn't apply for the supercasino, but they have applied for a "large" casino. I heard someone form the council on Southern Counties Radio say that the plan is to be able to have a casino when the Brighton Centre is demolished and revamped. They haven't decided that this is what they will do, but want permission to be able to do it if this is the route they take. When asked about the Supercasino she made some comment about not wanting to be like Vegas or Blackpool. Made it sound like Brighton is too posh for that sort of thing.  Cheesy

I had no opinion till I read this post.

It would kill places like CinCins if it were in Glasgow

my bet would be on Sheffield, politically it ticks most of the boxes, Council backing, Central Location, Minister is a Sheffield MP, Jobs created in a deprieved area. I know Blackpool are pushing hard for it, & are probably favourite, but politically I think they'll lose out.

It really should be greenwich.

The venue is outstanding and is unparalled by any existing or prospective site.

the site, due to a multitude of transport options both existing, and the potential for,is accessable beyond the requirements of a major tourist attraction or sporting venue.

All the moneys in london so you get a consistantly higher class of clientel with a far higher earning potential than in one of the ............erm........less "extravegant" options

The sorounding area is a perfect platform on which to build a vegas type enviroment, inextricably condusive to a venture of this magnetude.

The millenium dome may not be a front runner to aquire the requisit permission for britains first super casino due to inexplicable independant political factors but it is by far the most credible option.

All ive seen in way of argument against this on this thread has consisted of nothing more than an indiffernet sense of domestic geographical pride.

I dunno! Thats just what they said on the radi-adi-adi-adi-o!

I think they mentioned Canterbury but I don't think it's big enough here for a small casino, let alone a huge one! Theres no space anywhere for anything!
