I must respond to the criticism here.

I believe that I initially suggested what I believed to be a valid reason, that geographically, the midlands was the right place. I didn't even take offence at Tight Ends suggestion about there being nothing else here, because whether he was serious or not, it was obviously meant in banter.

I then read the initial post from Bolt. To me it read snide and elitist and I am naturally going to defend my own area as I am sure many of you would. The reason I picked upon it (and believe me my typing is far from perfect) was that there were so many mistakes (and I didn't start on grammar or punctuation) in a post where he was insinuating that the people outside London were basically nothing more than paupers.

For this I was then called a "W". Hardly fair and yet I am then criticised for my post but not a mention of that. Laughable!

As a moderator I am also disappointed with your input to this thread Tikay. I was not aware of this "flaming" issue and for that I apologise and will refrain from doing so in future. However, a pm would have been far more appropriate. Tight End has already done this earlier today so perhaps you as a moderator could have communicated with him before chastising my contribution.

I don't believe I did "chastise" you Highstack.

I said...

".....We have been here before. Please don't berate Members for their spelling, or typing, that's the blonde Policy now, it amounts to flaming....".

That's a simple, polite, request, no nore, no less, & some Members may need reminding of it, as it's been a couple of months since the issue was aired.

Anyway, we all now where we are with speeling - spelling? now.

As a general Rule, when we want to "chastise" someone - though we'd not use that word, that's your word - we do it by PM.

I was fully aware of the exchange between yourself & Tighty earlier today. I am aware of ALL exchanges between Mods & Members, including any or all that pertain to this thread.

Let's move on.

I really do think it should be in Cardiff. Apart from the obvious fact that it will be the closest for me to get to there are numerous other reasons

1-  We really do need it if we are to host events for the 2012 london olympics. The funding would be crucial.

2- The bay would be perfectly situated for it. A short hop from numerous hotels and amenities.

3- There is a huge amount of unemployment in the area and i believe the council stated that it would create around      1500 out of 5000 jobs that the whole sports village would create. Generating over 265 million a year in to the local community

4- Awarding it to Cardiff would also help the UK and Wales host the Ryder Cup at Newport in 2010

5- I have to be honest that although the APAT event will be there, the cardiff Grosvenor is not the best run casino. It will never, IMO, develop into a well run one and its time has come to step up or step out the way.

6- It is easily accessible to evryone from all over england (apart from the very extremities). The bay joining right onto the M4.

It has the councils 100% backing, transport links, more than an adequate amount of accomodation, would be ahuge boost to the economy of the area and also put cardiff on he map as being one of the fastest developing metropolitan cities in the UK.

i just see it as shorter than someone travelling from newcy to london and vice versa. Just annoys me that the dome is the automatic place because it basically gives the government a chance to cover up the £2,000,000,000.00 fuck up they made in 1997 when they decided to build the fucking thing!

1-  We really do need it if we are to host events for the 2012 london olympics. The funding would be crucial.

I don't understand this

2- The bay would be perfectly situated for it. A short hop from numerous hotels and amenities.

Compared to the hotels and amenities in london?

3- There is a huge amount of unemployment in the area and i believe the council stated that it would create around      1500 out of 5000 jobs that the whole sports village would create. Generating over 265 million a year in to the local community

So it should just go there because Cardiff can't create enough jobs.....

4- Awarding it to Cardiff would also help the UK and Wales host the Ryder Cup at Newport in 2010

How does a casino help host a golf tournament?

5- I have to be honest that although the APAT event will be there, the cardiff Grosvenor is not the best run casino. It will never, IMO, develop into a well run one and its time has come to step up or step out the way.

Again what relevance does that have!

6- It is easily accessible to evryone from all over england (apart from the very extremities). The bay joining right onto the M4.

All roads lead to london. Not to mention 5 international airports.

Seems to me you think Cardiff should get it because it would help cardiff out, bolox to that build in the best place for it. If that happens to be london or surrounding areas then go for it!

I'm with flushy..I completely fail to see your reasoning behind any of the above posts..other then you would like to see it in Wales but vcan't think of any good reasons as to why it should be there.
I would love to see it in glasgow but know it won't happen here (not the first one anyways) and can't think of any credible arguments as to why it should not be London...
