The acting in Seven was particularly good, from both Pitt and Freeman; it's a shame thrillers don't usually get the credit they deserve.
The screenplay was one of the best of the decade, and everyone involved acted the hell out of those parts.

I think JC surpassed truman long before he made it, with the rather disturbing "Cable Guy".
