Personally I'm raising pre flop here and then I'm betting on the flop.

The fact that nobody had made a raise and flat called for me pre flop is showing they are pretty weak, It really depends on how the table has been playing and or if you have come across any of these players before.

I'm making a bet of about 150 pre flop to think down the callers.

I wouldn't imagine youwould get any action from anyone holidng 6 3 here its possible that you may get a limper with say 6 8 suited but i reckon you get them off  it pre flop if you make a bet.

There's nothing wrong with flat calling with 77 utg. Bet half the pot now and see how it goes.

you're betting 2 1/2xBB UTG with 66 for nearly 10% of your stack? Seems a bit strong.

I like the limp with this hand

Next move depends on the action in front of you. If the blinds check the flop I'd tend to bet around the 150 mark but have a feeling this is a bit weak and would like to know what others would do.

If anyone bets a small amount I'm just calling.

If anyone bets big I'm going straight over the top.

I think with the raise pre flop your finding out exactly where you are if I am re-raised I can get away from it.

Limping and calling a raise is much better for your implied odds than raising, being re-raised and folding.

Why would you want to get away from it? you're probably ahead.
The real value in small pairs comes from getting in cheap, legging it if you miss but getting paid off when you hit your set

exactly....the best way to play middle pairs is limping in and hope you hit a set....exactly what I did....after the flop I bet $400 and got 2 callers with the turn coming  three diamonds

now what? any 6 out there and your beat..your only hope is for the board to pair to know your ahead

Have i misread the thread. You bet the flop, got two callers. The turn came a  three diamonds so the BB was to act. What did he do?

You have played it perfect in my opinion. If they are good players you have made them make a mistake in calling your bet but now you must put the breaks on and hope to check it down or call a small raise on the end (thats if you don't fill your boat.)

agree with A2M. I'm slowing down now and calling any smallish bet. you've got 9 cards to hit to fill your boat and 1 for quads and you may well still be ahead without any of them.
