Howdy, folks and folkettes

I'm slightly concerned about today's update as, so far, it's been one of those days...

First off, after setting my alarm to 1pm in preparation for England's opener, I awoke to the joyful sight of the small hand on the 3. Eeeeeeeeek! I've missed the first half of the match! Wow, I really have changed, that would never have happened last time. I didn't miss a game in 2002, now I'm losing out on my own team's footie.

Then, after watching the tedious second half, eagerly awaiting a Crouch robotic dance that never came, I scraped my shoulder on the frame of the bathroom door. OUCH!!! Now I have a rather annoying gash on my arm which rubs against my shirt every time I move an inch. Bah. I'm really delicate too.

So, with a slight grimace on my face, I set out for Walsall, in eager anticipation of today's Main Event. But, as I approached the M42, a quick glance down told me that I was almost out of petrol. Double EEK! Turn around, back we go.

As I exited my car at the petrol station ,an annoucement told me that there was no petrol. Oh bloomin eck!!! And then, as I got back in my car, they suddenly announced that they actually DID have petrol. What on God's green earth is going on today?! Did they suddenly realise that they had a couple of barrels out of the back?

So, petrol thankfully in car, I went to make my payment. Standing in the queue, that was 6 people long, I realised that the till was broken and the fella was writing everything down and doing his maths on a calculator.

Several minutes later, and I was still there. Boy, when it's hot, us Brits don't half get impatient. The distinct huffing and puffing from folks in the queue was pretty amusing.

When I finally reached the front of the queue, the sales assistant, who was in full Frank Spencer mode, kept going into the stockroom every 20 seconds. Why, I'll never know. Must have been looking for his beret!

What was most amusing was that when I left, the guy announced that now they actually HAD run out of fuel. LOL, the people outside, who had now piled up, had faces like smacked asses.

To top it all off, I couldn't get the top off my lucozade bottle whilst I was in the car. I know I'm a bit of a Mr Muscle with slightly under par guns, but that bloomin top must have been glued on!!

Oh I just don't know. What was most amazing was that, ironically, there were NO hold-ups on the M6, and that's normally the home banker.

Anyway, at least I've made it without arriving in a hearse.

Oh yeah, and before I forget, Jen's not with us today. She's normally the glue that keeps us together, but this weekend I'm being accompanied by someone just as glueier. I'll let him introduce himself...

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

Noflopshomer here, I'm standing in for Jen today and being Snoops' dogsbody, hopefully I can almost be one tenth as good as Jen and then this will all run swimmingly.

And we've already had two all-ins. Mateyboy squared!

Both moved all-in by the river, both had aces, both got their money back.

How exciting!

Bad news already...

tikay has done his nuts in the first 5 minutes... well one of them anyhow, he's still got his other 7.5k left.

Kendall and Peter Costa saw a flop of

Costa bet out, tikay raised, Costa moved all-in, and tikay called.

tikay =

Costa =

Turn =

River = two hearts

Must have been a coinflip, but it didn't land the right side for His Kendallness.

"CHIPS!!!"

Right, I'm finally connected on DC's ultranew cool laptop. I managed to briefly see 'El Blondie' take an early pot with QT on a AKJJ7 board.

Bapdpab's on a pretty menacing table.

The two seats before him have been filled by Ali Mallu and Mickey Wernick.

Then across the table are Fatmarra and the victor last time we frequented this joint... Ned Tim Flandidilyanders

Marc Goodwin also here.

He's got a snazzy specially made belt that reads 'MR COOL'

he reckons it's a guaranteed bird puller... although he claims to be taken.
