Out of interest (probably to me only) it seems that very few of the big name Americans came across the pond. Hellmuth yes (perhaps he has appearance money for all I know), but no Negraneau, Matusow or the rest. I know its not unusual but....

Why do we think that is?

There are a few here Tighty - Hellmuth & Gohering, for example, but no real invasion force. I guess it's barely worth their while to travel so far, there must be €10k+ events in the US of A every week. To be honest, I don't feel their absence is a negative, Mr Wilson apart. And the Americans were not at all happy with the armed robbery thing here - the Americans have that wholly anti-violence thing going.

I think the scheduling for WPT Paris has had the biggest effect. In 2004, the WSOP was earlier in the year, in the late spring, and everyone was free to travel to Paris. Last year it was right after the WSOP (when everyone was pokered out or broke), and this year it's right before the WSOP.

Plus, we just finished a WPT event here in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay, and there is a $10,000 event up in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, starting on Friday. (Not sure how many big pros will play in that one, since it won't be televised.)

None of the pros I've talked to have mentioned the robbery a few years back. I think it all comes down to travel schedules, jet lag, and things like that.

Sorry I missed the coverage yesterday, but I was still catching up on Mandalay Bay photos and coverage for myself. And I missed watching Isabelle, who busted in the last 15 minutes.  Sad

But that's okay, I like following your coverage even when Isabelle and Jen aren't in action. Keep up the good work!

Oh, what poker players get up to in the dinner break - astounding story about some football related side action amongst the crazy old Norwegians - around €20,000 got, er, redistributed over dinner between their lot.  Mentalists.

Here they are down to 86 players, and I think might struggle to hit yesterday's target.

Bullitt Pete?

Jen reported his count of 21,000 on the previous page Nick. She may have confused you by describing "BullitPete" as "BullitPete".......

Apparently Ivey was playing some mega huge game (2000-4000euro limit or somesuch) with the usual gang, Lindgren, lGreenstein, Benyamine etc etc when the robbers came in..

Everyone was forced to the ground under the tables. Much screaming and panicing ensued.

Meanwhile Ivey was just looking for action. Under the table he whispered to Lindgren.

"Have you got a line on whether I get shot?" And then collapsing in fits of laughter...

Is there a little icon that can replicate Vic & Bob's handbag routine for Tony?

Probably apocryphal, but with Ivey who knows

Roland just had the dreaded AA which duly got cracked by  rivering a fliush.

"How many chips left Roland?".

"Life Support" he replied.

Oops.
