$1,500 NL

Here are some belated photos of the very end of the No Limit ex-TV final table, after Padraig's elimination - it was not the seven hour marathon of the HORSE heads up,  but while all the attention veered somewhat towards the last 10 in the $2,500 PL, Mats Rahmn took the bracelet and $655,141, while Richard Toth took the $333,721 for second.

The first pic here represents the handing-over of the bracelet, which I thought I'd be sneaky, dodge the rope and run over and catch, but they ended up facing the other way...so it was only when the handshakes were taking place that a reasonable photo emerged.

$2,500 PL

Ariston has confirmed that they coming back to play the final tomorrow.

I just spent the best part of 20 mins talking to Womble, who confirms that he and Ariston haven't had the best start to their series - my favourite story of Womble's was how he got into the Bellagio $1000 as the 81st alternate, and seven minutes later was back on the rail.

Yep - still in!  In the money, sat next to Joe Beevers (still) with 32,400.

He also, unfortunately, has one of the chip leaders on his table, who has truly gravity-defying towers of chips reaching up to his chin like an unassailable wall...

It looks like Hellmuth's out though.

I've been thinking about playing the $1,500 NL Event in a few days, just thought it would be nice to play at least one wsop Event in my liftetime.

However, I have no idea what strategy to adapt.

I've been speaking to Thewy about it, who seems to think you need to treat it as 60 blinds rather than worry about just having 1,500 chips.

My concern is in raising preflop with hands likeA-K, A-Q, A-J, A-T etc. If you get a couple of callers, then that continuation bet is gonna be a decent chunk of your stack. I'd hate half my stack like that, so perhaps trying to see cheap flops in the fist 2 levels is the way forward. Julian said the standard of play was woeful, so if I can catch a straight or something for just 25, I may be able to get paid off.

I'm also wondering if, considering the size of the field, it's worth pushing a flopped draw. Worth a gamble?

OK - play in the $5,000 6-H has finished for the night, and unbelievably it's only 1am!  Early one here....

Anyway, they're Bagging and Tagging, but I managed to catch Joe Beevers who's made it into the final 36, but with only 23,900.  He pointed out that "Mad Marty's got all the chips in the room..." and sure enough, at least 120k was piled in front of him.  He's been sat with his back to the rail, and to be honest I thought he was out ages ago - apologies for quietness on the Marty front!  He's way out in front...

So amazingly, it's the other half of the Room with all the action now, and it's Cash and Satellite type!  The tourney dealers and staff must be heaving at least a small sigh of relief...

So I am totally going to drink beer outside (in moderation, of course - work day tomorrow and Snoopy won't let me get away with being late twice).  G'day!

We're pretty smoked here, so tomorrow it looks like we'll just try and focus on Day 2 of the $5,000 Six-Handed Freezout. Covering 3 Events at once will eventually kill us both, and we're too rich  Roll Eyes to allow that to happen. Just think of all that money going to waste!

toodle loo peeps

Once again, my heatfelt thanks to Jen & sloppy, for their devotion to blonde way beyond the call of duty.

I ought to be there helping them, but I'd feel so inadequate, the terminology, phraseology, idiosy & plain daft invented words they use just "hit the spot", these two guys are a class apart.

$2,500 PL

Here are the chip counts going in to tomorrow's final:

Seat 1: Lee Markholt -- 128,000
Seat 2: Maros Lechman -- 101,000
Seat 3: Joseph Hachem -- 64,000
Seat 4: Jeffrey Roberson -- 24,000
Seat 5: John Gale -- 134,000
Seat 6: Lee Grove -- 66,000
Seat 7: Alex Jacob -- 524,000
Seat 8: Kevin Ho -- 287,000
Seat 9: Greg Alston -- 80,000

With Hachem involved, my guess is that this one will make TV. Would be great to see John Gale come through, he seems like a top bloke.

Good luck John Gale.  A class act.  Bring it home John!
