As some of you may know Luke Patten and I had a bit of a set to at Brighton a few months ago and I posted on Blonde as I was unsure as to how I should have handled it.

Luke and I had a chat about it after the final this week as he was quite upset that I had accused him of saying such things. He is adamant that he would never have said such a thing to anyone, let alone a woman, and he suggested that he may well have been saying it about himself.

As you know I didn't raise the issue at the time, as I was so shocked. I regret not having done so as it may have been cleared up in an instant, but I am more than happy to accept Lukes explanation that I misheard him. If that is the case then I apologise.

At the final table on Sunday he was a nice chatty person and not the one I experienced at Brighton. (Although he was a complete thief!  Sad )

I hope that this has put the matter to rest.

I also genuinely hope that we will play against each other again, and obviously I genuinely hope that the next time I beat him.....well I can only be Miss Nice for so long!  Grin

hi dingbell,
& well done on a nice score!
funnily enough i spoke to tk just yesterday, we chatted about luton and i mentioned that i'd sat next to luke for a few minutes on saturday and that he seemed like a really nice chap.
no idea what went off in brighton but hopefully it was a misunderstanding,

Glad that is cleared up!

More to the point....3 big scores for Luke this year.....what do you think his secret is?

Watching on Sunday I saw a very aggressive player, hard to put on a hand, puts opponents under pressure, hates folding so difficult to bluff...but there are dozens of players like that on the circuit

Is it just "form" or does he have something special...? I suppose time will tell

He won a giant pot for most his chips with just a few tables left. Aces vs Queens, Queen on the River. That kinda helps.

That aside, his track record is incredible and he should be praised for his amazing achievements of late.

He's also always been as nice as pie to me and we've had plenty of friendly chats. I'm not saying Luke is Mother Theresa, but he seems like a nice bloke to me and I find it hard to be unfirendly to someone who is so pleasant to me.

A big congratualtions to Luke for his win this weekend, not to mention the recent birth of his new baby girl.

i was sat on his table in brighton, and to be honest at the time i thought hes attitude stank. I spoke to dingdell after he took me out (my ak v kq)..at the time we both were not impressed with his behaviour to say the least. Wot really pissed me of was the way he spoke about one of the players after he knocked him out...after all manners are free. But tracy if u feel that he explained himself to u then fair does.

As regards to his big wins...hes obviously a good player...but at brighton he came to my table wit no chips and got lucky about 4 hands on trot and then got paid wit his monsters. Like i said obviously a good player, my experience wit him wasnt very pleasant.

Just my piece.

That was then, this is now, & I genuinely believe he's got his act together etiquette-wise, & it's case closed.

I do have one prob with him though - he comes from Colchester. Nothing good ever came out of Colchester. And certainly he's the only Poker player in that part of the world. Can YOU think of another? Proper player, I mean.
