believe it or not, I can sing. Was once lead choral scholar at school and often get up with amateur bands at local do's

no, seriously!

stop laughing

my repertoire stretches from Make me Smile by Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel through Have I told you lately by Van Morrison through Sweet Child of Mine and er, that's it!

if we put a one off blonde covers band together would you like to sing a couple then?

A few times in my life I have done thngs which bought me great happiness, or sadness, or both, & for which I ummed & arred for ever before actually starting. One related to a young lady whose home I drove past nightly, & I always wanted to go & knock on her door, da de da de da. And I did, followed by exquisitye happiness & terrible sadness, you know how these things go sometimes.

So, for some time now, I have been thinking of.......well, today sums up blonde, such a nice atmo on here, and last night, a great bunch, all finding out about each other, and having a ball, no nastiness at all. Well, anyway, I kinda keep thinking that we should have a sort of "blonde bash" maybe annually, just after Christmas perhaps (I don't "do" Christmas), and we all get together one night, & the musicians come & do their bit, and Red tells a few stories, maybe a few SNG's, we make a few Awards - "blonde of the Year", "Best Post", "Best achevement by a blondeite", "Worst Player" (excluding Ariston), bring the partners along.......

Will I live to regret this post?

I might be a bit late here, but I was at Reading festival, so it isn't my fault.

Has anyone here tried Audioscrobbler (it seems to have become recently merged with last.fm), it keeps track of everything you listen to on your PC and makes charts and things:

http://www.last.fm/user/bongokingbaby/
that links to my profile so you can see what rubbish i listen to Smiley

As to downloading tracks, i'd avoid allofmp3.com, it's legallity is in doubt and i'd rather not pay the russian mafia for something that isn't legal. Since I found napster My CD collection has grown from about 15 (and no real interest in any) to hundreds and always wanting more, mostly from smaller bands that don't get a lot of airtime/promotions.

RX bandits are great, although they did try to chat up my GF in rock city after they played  Cheesy

Does anyone else like Sublime? I'd heartily recommend them, a sort of mash up of punk, ska, dub and many other things i guess  Huh?

Other bands worth a listen (off the top of my head):

Rilo Kiley
Piney Gir
Buck 65
MC Lars (literate Hip Hop, he does versions of MacBeth (called Rapbeth) and Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven".
The Weakerthans
The Postal Service (great electronic pop).
Bright Eyes (and the more rock side project Desparacidos)
Manu Chao

Also a great album i found a few weeks back is "Rock Swings" by Paul Anka (60's crooner covers rock songs, it's like a serious version of Richard Cheese)

I think I should stop, i'll go on all week otherwise  Cheesy
