This could be one of the best signings Celtic have made in years and definitely helps with the loss of petrov.

I do think Gravesen is a good player but not worth 45k a week imo, but time will tell.

lol

Just the figure which has been banded about for the past two days.  To be honest I don't think it will be that wide of the mark given that he was obviously on a ridiculously high salary at the Bernabeau, combined with the interest for Premiership clubs mean he isn't going to accept a huge cut.  But like I said time will tell whether he proves to be value for money or not.

Gravesen is going to be a massive hit at Celtic and is a much better player than anything Rangers have.

Great piece of business by Peter Lawell again!

Why are people so hung up about the money Celtic are spending? They get slagged for having a biscuit tin mentality when they don't spend & still get slagged when they do. Its nothing do to do with the fact that Murray promised "several" million for PLG to spend & that has not materialised, 15 million was the figure "bandied about" I believe. Moonbeams indeed! Make nearly 200 people redundant & service the debt with the proceeds whilst giving up your biggest source of merchandising income.  >:?

I dont believe Gravesen will be on as much as 45k a week it will ne nearer 35k with bonuses & incentives added, but even if he is on that figure Celtic will still be well up on the day

Petrov - 30k a week x 52 weeks x 3 years = 4.68m + 6.5 mill tran fee = 11.18m saved

Gravesen 45k a week x 52 x 3 = 6.5m + 2m trans fee = 9.02m spent

That gives us another 2 million to spend with the possibilty of another 1.5 million coming in add ons from the Petrov deal.

You do the math Cool
