Although I agree that they can be a pain at times and seems to take over the general discussion, isn't that exactly what the General Discussion board is for?
Don't get me wrong, I would love to see the lot of them banished to the basement of Blonde, but too many people love the "post count bump" threads, so they will sadly be around for a long time to come.

I think a child board of general discussion 'word games and puzzles' would be good to keep it all together. Are people really bothered about post count? On some forums it grants you some kind of status, but not on here. On a forum I used to post on they had a similar board, where your post count didn't increase, so that's an option.

i think its supply and demand..people seem to be happy to have a wee run at the stories...why i dont know as they are mind numbing but its pretty harmless and it doesnt take much to scroll down to what you really want to see...c`mon now a wee bit tolerance
that aside if it annoys then ignore....if you put it on a child board thats another board....couple of potential blondes look at the site and are slightly put of as they dont know where the blazes to start reading..so not too many boards
hopefully they will gradually slide and disappear, if not then thats people power

We have these debates as a team of mods from time to time
We have plans post bb3 for a new Main board so are unlikely to want to add another child board too
I also don't see a lot of evidence on here, unlike some other forums, of post count bumping or post counts mattering. Post counts don't matter on here.
It's your forum and your board, if people want to post on the threads let them. If not, ignore it.

I suggested to tightend in a PM a while ago that the option to ignore threads/users would be a great idea.... maybe that is what the people want?! it will put an end to banal threads being created complaining about banal threads being created
