Well, its all changed here. Alan Davies has gone from chip leader to short stack in a matter of two hands. He lost a pot to John Marles when raising 20k to John's 10k river bet on a

board with no action before then in the hand. John showed a queen, Alan mucked without showing.

Then, in the last hand of the level Alan raised to 15k from the small blind. Jamie Gubb, who had made up some ground a few hands earlier, flat called.

Flop  three diamonds

Alan bet 15k, Jamie called.

Turn

They both checked.

River  two hearts

Alan bet 15k. Jamie moved all in for another 25k or so. Alan called and turned over  for a straight.
But Jamie had hit a dream flop holding  Two Diamonds and scooped the pot, taking the chip lead in the process. They are now on a ten minute break.

John 151k
Jamie 140k
Nick 95k
Alan 26k

We have a winner...

John Marles is the Welsh Masters Champion officially winning £8,000

therefore

Jamie Gubb is the Runner Up taking home £4,000

In the final hand Jamie moved all in on a flop of

John called

Jamie had

John had

Turn was  Two Diamonds , river

And that, as they say, is poker.

The winner, John is a mortgage broker by trade.

Runner up Jamie qualified via a £50 one table satellite. He got the much coveted Blue Square watch while John took the trophy.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.
