well, i couldn't admit to being at it now! -
on another subject, how on earth did you get away with that bluff last night? - 6 limpers and you conveniently find a hand in the BB that matches exactly with the flop? and for an amount that also conveniently is approximately the same as the full pot size raise.
Everyone knows your an at-it merchant and time after time they let you get away with it!
now, come on tikay what did you have? or were you just errrr.... experimenting?

The biggest fold i think i have made was in my first ever festival event, the £300 freezeout at walsall in feb.
I was up to 10k early doors and was loving it. I had been playing long enough to know how all the players played and had 1 guy pegged as ultra tight, so much so that when he limped on the button and i raised pot i folded to his re-raise with my KK, he showed Aces, the amazing thing is this wasnt the laydown i was talking about!!
On blinds of 100-200 i limped UTG with 44 almost the whole table limped behind, the button went all in for a total of 350, the SB folded the ultra tight BB called and the rest of us all called.
Flop cam down 9 4 2 with 2 diamonds, there was a 2k+ dead pot and the BB bet out pot on the flop, like i said i was well above average on 10k, we started with 3k and it was early days. I wanted to check the action behind me before i commited to the hand.
Evreyone else folded and the turn came a 9. Lovely i thought, the BB now bet out just 2000 into the 7k pot. I sat there traceing the hand back and knowing he could have any 2 cards given the pre flop action. I also decided he must have put me on a Flush Draw given the flop action, so why on earth would he bet 2k.
I eventually decided given his tight play he was 1 of these hands 94 92 99 22. And that he was trying to milk my draw, so i passed. Given it was a dead pot i was to see his hand anyway!!
As i passed he turned over 96!!!!!! And made some comment about how he had completly missplayed his turn bet, and was bricking it that i was to call with a flush draw he thought i had. His 'bad bet' was exactly the only bet that would keep in the comp!! A funny hand i thought.
I went on to bubble in the comp.

I had 4k, & blinds were 2k-4k. 6 (SIX!) limpers on my BB, which is a lack of respect for starters, I had 8-9 hearts & almost R'd it pre-flop, but the flop came K high, 2 hearts, so I bet out, & everyone folded like ligihtning - one guy - seat 8 or 9, may have been "Sunday @8pm" - claimed to have folded the nut flush draw......phew!
I ran the 4k up to 15k on that table, then got nto a Raising war with Thee Not Thine on another table, & he won on points, (6-0). Eventually, I moved all-in with KK, & got called by..... KK. But when I turned over my hand, it turned out to be an "experimental" KK, it was K-8, if you get my drift.
But the whole evening was ruined for me, as was both Sunday & Thursday at Gala, by the constant arguing, abusing of staff, shouting, abusing of dealers, & general atmosphere. What happened to the Notts I loved so? The manageress was abused last night for the 2nd time in 3 nights, folks were effing & cee-ing blinding at each other at the top of their voices.
I go to poker to have a nights fun, not to be witness to that kind of behaviour.
After the "incident" I was accused of not defendiong one of the two guys who had the 20 minute stand-up row. I REFUSE to defend these guys, be they right or wrong, when they speak to Management like that. And the guy wondered why the decision went against him!
Horrible horrible horrible, & no sign of any action being taken to bring a bit of order to the place. So, so, sad. Attendances will now, of course, start to fall, and all that hard work by everyone to make Gala THE BEST will have been wasted. It upsets me more than I can say, Notts is close to my heart, but jeez, last night - & 2 nights in the last week - had to be seen to be believed.

The
Worst
laydown I saw was last year in Slovenia, a PLO/PLHE competition. It was Hold em and I had K9 spades in the bb. 3 limpers. Flop comes K97 all hearts. I bet pot and one guy hummed and hawed then called, rest passed. Turn was 2 hearts...I decided to go for it and I still had outs if he hit flush. I bet allin. He passed KK face up and said "nice hit"
His face when I flipped over K9 "accidently" when the pot was passed to me was a picture

Although Harrington says you can never be sure enough to release Kings, I did manage to successfully let them go preflop once. However, this was only because I knew my opponent only ever limps under the gun with the bullets. After he won the hand on the flop, and showed his aces, I was dying to reveal them. To my dismay, the dealer mucked them be4 I had a chance to gloat. (I was young and at a boastful stage in my poker life
)
When I told my opponent what I released, he said, 'If you had Kings, then I have 3 testicles.'
So if you see someone in the cardroom with a slight limp, then you'll know it's him.
In conclusion though, this is the only time I'd let the hand go. I'm too much of a coward normally. You'd have to be 100% sure, which is very rare. I was probably just lucky that he actually did have aces. Next time he may be holding something else.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k. “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi. Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

I agree, seems to be a real edge to the place at the minute - people shouting, arguing with each other. Disputes over god knows what and blatantly bad conduct from alot of the punters. Its time there were some bans handed out

I think you played it right, i just made a bad read and got lucky.
Problem with taking a flop is more often than not i am going to take you off it when you have the best hand, and with the junk i was raising with you would have probably commited on a 742 flop to see me turnover 74.

Junior's reply, & the piece by me he "quoted", seem to have got intermingled. The piece above is the bit that Junior added.

I heard nothing out of order on sunday....was it very late in the night (I busted around 1 am). Saturday witnessed a shouting match which hapened directly to my left and right i.e I was stuck in the middle. I thought my ears were going to bleed with the noise level and the nub of the row? Had the comp started at 7.30 pm or 7.40 pm
