Players are asked to refrain from "table talk" or "coffee-housing" or talking during a hand in a way that compromises an opponent's hand. This applies to players playing in the hand or watching the hand. Repeated abuse of this aspect of behaviour will result in suspension or permanent restriction of play.

The reason I thought it was cheating is because this was the first thing anyone had said on the table.

Putting yourself in TexasDeuces shoes...he has 6BBs left and with me and mateyboy having folded if he has any kind of decent hand he is going to whack his chips in there (at least I would have  Cheesy) but thinking about it now I suppose if they were cheating then Mr bigstack could have check/folded.

It just seemed really odd at the time.

It's 'in a way that compromises an opponents' hand' that is the important bit, I think.

I had always believed that you were (only) allowed to talk about your hand in poker when you were heads up.

But I believe that on some poker sites, their T & C's state that you are not allowed to talk about your hand while a pot is in progress.

This is true - all you need to do is check the T&C's of the site you are playing on and if it is the case then report it.

Against the rules? Yes. Cheating? No.

And what would the difference be? If it goes against the rules of the site in question then surely they would see the actions as cheating?

Yes in that instance i agree - that is abuse not cheating.

However if a site states that discussing your cards while the hand is still live is against the rules then the site would view that as cheating - same as colluding.

If he was actually telling the truth and he did have KK then the two of them are colluding because he is telling the big blind what he is holding so that the big blind doesnt call and risk being eliminated.
