I'm naive, please tell me what the KILL button is for that came with my button pack.

It's for 'kill games'

In limit poker sometimes you have a 'kill' basically if someone wins 2 pots in a row (over a certain size) the next hand the blinds double and the kill has to post from whatever seat he is in.
