Whats the point of telling someone you just knocked out that they played badly? Let them get over the fact they nearly became a millionaire without shouting "pass the sugar"

And i meant i like how he played more than anything, he managed to maintain a big lead by applying pressure to the short stacks and he used his speech to gain so much info, i was very impressed.

Jamie Gold needed plastic surgery after the final due to the cards hitting him in the face for 4 days solid.
Wait till you see the final.

Must agree though Joe Hatchem comes across as being arrogant this year, maybe it was the pressure of defending his title.

Without knowing exactly how much is in the middle or how much the all-in players bet is, what surprised me was how quickly he says call when he thinks his opponent has AJ as well.

He calls the bet in the thought he is getting his money back when his opponent could easily have AJ with the Ace of Diamonds thereby giving him a freeroll at taking the whole pot.

yeah..and to be honest I probably would have gone all in as a bet aswell if I'd had the queen of diamonds as a kicker....

I'm writig a full piece about this "person" soon. Here I'll just say that I think you should watch the tape of the final. EVen before the final he was running around shouting "yes yes" and high fiving everytime he knocked someone out. AT the final he was an arrogant C**T. "I'm going to trap everyone!"

In short, he didn't ive rubdowns he gave full on deep tissue massages with happy ending.

I don't have a problem with someone going to thier mates and high 5'ing when they win a pot. You don't ask a footballer not to celebrate when he scores a game......you do ask him not to run up to the goalie and say "have that you mug"

OH Dear! we're gonna definitely gonig to have to disagree on this one.

Rubdowns/excess celebrations/loudly shouing out for your sick outdraw cards/arrogant threats

They all fall into the same category for me, bit lacking on the class side.
Not really conducive to elevating poker to a professional level.

This isn't online. The people who's faces you dance in front of after hitting them with your 2 outer muffjob are right in front of you.

This is another case of what part of poker is a game and what part is a sport?

I hate rubdowns, there is no need, but if a guy wins the WSOP and i come 2nd, i fully expect him to jump up and start cheering! He just became the World Champ ffs! As long as he comes over and shakes my hand all is well. Like i say a footballer is allowed to go celebrate with his fans/fellow players when he scores, so a poker player should be able to do the same.

I suppose we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.
I won't begrudge the new WSOP champ a cheer when he's won it but there are ways to do things and ways NOT to do things. As for the handshaking thing, I see it as a quick bit of hypocrisy all too often witessed on these tele final tables. DO a big grandstand production on how great you are after getting your chips in from behind and getting lucky ad then offering a handshake to the unlucky soul you just knocked out. IMO do one or the other but they dont go together. Acting like an arse for 10secs is not all suddenly washed away because you then immediately pretend to be a gentleman.

What about any sport? When someone wins they celebrate then shake the losers hand, why does poker have to be diffrent?
