Thanks RED,
Another little tip to add to my armour,
I've started to post more in the hand analysis board to see if others concur with my decisions and test my own theories.

Can i ask why you'd pass in this situation Chris?
Because you've been all-in a lot recently, one of the blinds may be tempted to call you with a raggy ace, I just don't like a limp, because with my chip stack, I want to play for all my chips or none of them and not in between.

I raise to 6k, just over half my stack. The SB (the aggressive scandi) pushes all in. He covers me. BB folds. Back to me.
Now what do you do?

with that big a raise your basically telling them "I aint folding to a re raise" with all that money in there now Id have to call.
If the raise had been to 3k then a pass may be viable but now its too late i feel.

I agree - I called and he had pocket jacks. King comes on flop, jack on river to give him trips. I wonder if the aggressive comment was tricky?

forget what he had for a moment, I hate the size of your raise (sorry), if you don't want to limp or pass you just needed to go all in rather than raise an amount where you can't pass to a re-raise
I like the limp in position
If the BB pushes I fold knowing I'm likely behind to a pair or any A and then next time/next round know I have to push

I prefer the 1/2 stack raise to the all in, it looks stronger.

That's what I thought - make it look like a 'what ever you do I'm pushing it in because I have a monster type of hand'.

I'd limp and try and see a flop. If you push, then, with those chips, you're only going to get a call from a hand that's beating you, but not only that, there's a good chance that it will be a dominating one.
