exactly ifm ... thats why an agent would be a good idea for the players, knowing that someone is pushing for sponsorship for you, and taking all the hassle out of booking hotels, travel arrangements etc, can only be good for a player who wants to concentrate 100% on his game

Plus, imagine the pull an "agent" would have if he had proven tournament winners on his books, the ability to negotiate a deal for more than one of his players would be increased, say player "A" has won or placed well in a few comps, but then has had a bad couple of tournies... the fact that you represent him AND maybe the winner of the comps where he has ducked, you can start to sell a package rather than an individual.

You do not need to be an agent to get abuse.
Try being in your early forties, blonde, stunningly handsome, drop dead sexy, & running a Poker Forum. Gets you HEAPS of abuse.

but what if they all duck in the next tourny? or the next 2 or 3? you're left with no bargaining power at all.
I see what you're saying i just think, too much power would be handed over to the companies.
I know Mathew Francis (son of blues god (player only) Trevor), he ran a footie agents business taking commision for transfers etc.
He ended up getting done selling hookie clothing cuz his players didn't do the biz where it mattered.
