Sorry to quote a really old post, but I take great offense at you classifying Liverpool (and coventry/wakefield for that matter) as "DAN SARF"... Liverpool is in the North, please don't associate such an excellent city with the dross that exists further down the M6 Wink

And as for the original comment, "bevvy" is a well known and well used term throughout the North of England and Scotland, and I have heard many a suverner also using the term, so perhaps tikay has spent too much of his time in the states these days Wink

Yes, the Scousers and the Yorkshire folks used to complain about that too  Huh? - but it is down south to us  Grin.

As for the bevvy making its way south, that's us people that do the missionary work   Cool Grin

To drag this thread back on topic (cardroom not lapdancers) - I understand that the new cardroom is quite busy and they're adding money to tourneys to give it a kick start.

It started to get busier after 9 last night. Having said that there were only 28 runners in the $10 re buy but was told it was much busier on Tuesday for the $20 re buy that had $500 added, this is also the format for Sundays. The club can seat 140 max.

Sinky (the manager) says they are going to have a festival in a month or so. I was really impressed, you should get yourself down there doubleup, theres also a $50 NLH on Saturdays with 1 re buy.

NB I've only typed $ instead of a pond sign cos my laptop has no pound sign  Embarrassed

Then type GBP, I get all offended when I see the dollar sign...  Grin

Many of the poker players in Glasgow do not have any loyalty. When Cincinnati add £500 to the prize pot on Tuesdays, they fill up and Riverboat is empty and has to cancel it's tournament. But the very next day, with no £500 added to the pot, the Riverboat gets 6 tables of players (66) and Cincinnati has only 28 or so runners.

Simple fact is, there's more value in the bigger pot, so players will go there. Those that do have some loyalty to one or the other club must also follow the crowd if he is to get any value for money. In the long run its all good for poker in Glasgow and in Scotland.

Riverboat will also be doing a festival in October, after their refurbishment sees the cardroom moving upstairs. Unfortunately it won't be a ranking event because they need to have run festivals for two years and they've currently only done one. The Stanley Berkley also has some big events coming up too.

On the subject of festivals, is Edinburgh and Dundee still to have theirs? I know one of them cancelled due to their refurb.
