Was this a handpicked team from Scotland?  Apart from the 2 Internet qualifiers?

Handpicked, but not for poker playing abilities as far as I can see Smiley

lets be fair, apart from the internet qualifiers the team members will be putting their hands in the own pockets to cover travel, accomodation, booze and entry fees, all of which will amount to at least a few hundred quid, with not much prospect of getting it back.

yeah, but its quite similar to the GB vs Ireland fixture, where each player stumped up 200 quid to play a headsup match. After contributions to the team prize pool and a chunk for charity, the maximum return you could get from your headsup match was....200 quid.

Under normal circumstances a 200 quid buyin would give you a shot at least a 10grand prize pool. So hats off to all those people who are stumping up the cash.

And incidentally, anyone who really wants to offer their support to their respective home nation, I suggest you contact your team captain and donate a few quid to gamelife.
