Although tbf, It says something about the poker world that I'm more surpirsed at Robert's behaviour than Dave's (which ethically was far worse obviously).

For the 2nd time in 15 hours, Camel nails it.

how? dave never set out to screw anyone but ended up doing it as he's a degen and got out of control

robert however, if what cos tells us is true, set out to intentionally screw his mates by the sounds of it

I've misunderstood the situation then.  I thought Robert had asked Dave for his stake money back when Dave had obviously reneged on the agreement.  Basically, Dave had broken the 'contract' and so Robert wanted his investment back.

I really am shocked and disappointed with Robert.

can you explain why please Keith, i don't understand what's so bad

From what I understand, he was prepared to keep the fact that Dave had spunked the money away confidential as long as he got his money back.

That's pretty unethical from where I'm sitting.

Why should Robert's share of the staking money be more important than that the others?

I'm understanding it as he found out dave had done the stake so tried to get his money back at the expense of his mates (and most if not all of the stakers could be classed as mates of roberts) who he didn't bother to mention it to

I'd settle for that I think.

well, I went into the stake fully aware of the risks as I knew what dave's like. I fully expected it to go tits at some point and I fully expected to get paid eventually as well. I have no problem with what dave did to me

I do however have a problem with someone I consider to be a mate intentionally trying to screw me

Oh I see.  I thought it was common knowledge he'd spunked it all.  Didn't realise Robert knew before everyone else.

If Dave hadn't broken the rules of the stake and spunked the money away, Robert wouldn't have felt the need to behave unethically.
