Overheard some interesting comments from Ade Bayo, who was suggesting he was hurt by all the negative comments that he receives, claiming that people just don't understand the method behind his madness.
"It's not just about talking people into making mistakes, I've made 80 Gutshot finals and run well in every single one of their festivals, there's a lot more to my game than people think."
He then went on to say, "What I do is listen, if people have any advice, I take it on board. When I see someone do well, I go and ask them about the game and find out how they are winning."
He also went on to discuss his strategy. "I avoid the gambles, I don't want to risk all my chips in on a 60-40 shot, why do I need to? People only seem to report the hands where I make my move, when I set people up and show them rags. They don't see all those big fold I make, the Ace Queens and Pocket Pairs I lay down because I don't want to gamble. If I know the Big Blind's going to put me all-in with my Ace King, then I'll lay it down."
Like Alli Mallu, Ade Bayo is somewhat of a mystery. Many question his skill, comment on his (supposed) incredible luck, but sometimes forget to evlauate his game, refusing to even try to understand how he has won so many comps. Perhaps tomorrow will give us the opportunity to do just that, or maybe, if I'm lucky, he'll let me ask a few questions so that we can delve into the murky depths of Casa Mind de Bayo.

It looks like John Magill fell at the final hurdle of Day 1 when his Tens ran into Pocket Jacks.

Okey, cokey, I'm pooped.
Time for beddie byes.
Make sure you're back here at 2pm tomorrow for Day 2 and the best updates in town. The start of Day 2 is normally full to the brim with excitement. The unbalanced stacks tends to create an incredibly frantic first level or two before it finally calms down, so make sure you're not late.
Toodle pip, folks, sleep well. I know I will cos I'm ruddy cream crackered.

So that's a wrap, and I'll leave you with a little story. Last night I was trying to explain some complex maths to Snoopy, but he just didn't get it.
I said, "There are 10 kinds of people; those who understand the binary calculus and those who don't."

Ade has a decent game, & is an OK guy. My earlier comments stand. If he wants to be continually rude to his opponents, then he must expect a bit of criticism, some of it ill-informed.
He has no more - or less - luck than any of us, his results come from having a tidy game. Such a shame he spoils it for himself, & everyone else, by being so loud, & so insulting, to his fellow players. I can deal with him repeatedly saying - as he does & has to me - "you are a LIAR" but he can hardly expect us all to be cooey-wooey to him in return. As you reap......
