Fitzwilliam Cardroom

Following my early demise in the EPT, I decided that instead of playing the €500 and €300 "side events, (which gave you 3000 starting chips and a 30 min clock) I would play the €500 freeze and the €75 re-buy at the Fitzwilliam Card Club.
What a great decision it turned out to be. The Fitzwilliam is one of the most welcoming, best run cardrooms you will ever play in.
The €500 was on a 45 minute clock with 8000 starting chips, but just look at this blind structure.
25/50
50/100
75/150
100/200
150/300
150/300/25 ante
200/400/25 ante
300/600/50 ante
400/800/50 ante
I went bust on this level so I can't say for sure how it continued, but I loved it.
The €75 re-buy also had some nifty innovations.
3 x 30 min levels of re-buys
Max 2 re-buys or 1 re-buy + 1 add-on, but get this...
Starting chips 3000 + an EXTRA 500 for those players who SAT DOWN ON TIME!!
1st re-buy = 4000 chips
2nd re-buy or add-on = 5000 chips.
Excellent Complimentary food supplied to you FREE, AT YOUR TABLE. NO QUEING!!
The staff were top notch, and the regular players were talkative and friendly. There were no arguments, no bad language, and not even the slightest suspicion of soft play.
I loved playing at the "Fitz" (as we regulars call it) I wish it was in the midlands.

it certainly was interesting i will tell u that, the lads dragged me down so i wudnt mulll over my limp reraise on roland that caused my exit in the ept final. i went from under the lights camera action to some geezer sayin......................... if urrrrrrrrrr want a brew mate the kettle and the tea bags are on the side urrrrrr make yer fekin own here . then the sight of fellow shadow team member zippy aslam shouting valettttttttt, made me piss myself laffin,,,
ssssssoooooo, in order to take my frustrations out on something ..we made the fitzwilliam somewat light of cash after we hit the one roulette table in a steam move that releived them of 3500euros. it was paid out in thousands of small notes lol.
we then sat down to a matt tyler sit and go with red dog coming in as a late entry , he went on to chop the pot ..... the 75 rebuy then started and the sudden realisation i was sat in a workin mans club that cud only work in ireland was like gettin a % share of b4matt tyler.
but wait breaking news the big builder from yorkshire took the tourney down so team shadow had a good a profitable week... ( tyler dont forget to bring that 10% to amsterdam)
zippy matt and me cashin in one weekend ,a visit to the fitz and the sight of ASH THE SHADOW HUSSAIN walking across the airport with his pockets turned inside out cos he cudnt afford teh 6 quid for a tuna sandwhich was a sight to behold ....................

Its my home! Over studying from Ireland for a year. In Wolves at the moment and joined up rubicon casino today. Was asking the girl behind the desk about the tourneys and she laughed (in a nice way) when i asked if you get any early bird chips. I miss the fitz(where everybody knows your name!)

I have been to the Fitzwilliam a few times and it is the best I have been in. The Merrion is just around the corner and that is pretty good too.

Did they break for food or just continue the game? Also if they broke did you have to eat it on your lap or did they put tablecloths over the tables?

It was great - food good, staff brilliant and locals definitely friendly.
Went back second night and I got a hug from one of the regulars and the staff remembered my name.........never happened before! Lovely place. Would fly over just for a good game there - really.
If DTD can reflect that atmosphere I'll be there all the time.

What's the name of the pub across the road?
(Serious question, actually want to know to use it as a rendevouz point prior to the event on Saturday)
Also, anyone know what time of day it opens?
