As expected, we have some early casualties.

First to drop is Frenchman, Gilles Haddad, who looked down to see one Ace, shoved his 6k in, only to run into A-Q. His other card was a 6, which failed to pair.

And then, hendon mobber, Barny Boatman ran Kings into Nines.

Finally, it also appeared as though Norseman, Edgar Skjervold, was a gonna due to his suspiciously vacant seat, but on second glance he has been moved to the feature table with Rolf Slotboom, Keith Hawkins and Sigi Stockinger.

Paul Parker is still plugging away, although they remain very short stacked.

I have just been informed that Matt Tyler exited very late last night, the Day's bubble in fact.

He made his move with 4-5, but ran into the Pocket Aces of Jan Boubli.

Obviously, no improvement.

Jerome Bradpiece has overtaken Keith Hawkins as chipleader after eliminating H Kakoun.

Jerome made a very good call in fact and so fully deserved the massive pot he scooped.

Battle of the blinds, Jerome made up the small blind (I think), Kakoun raised, Jerome re-raised, Kakoun moved all-in and Jerome called.

A-J for Jerome, A-8 for Kakoun.

Sverre Sunbo has doubled up D Makowsy with A-4 vs A-J

"Hearts," requested Sverre as the flop brought a Jack, but it wasn't to be and whilst Makowsky is now on 45k, Sverre is still running relatively strong with 90k, well above the average.

As I dance back into the cardroom, I am confronted with yet another massive pot, and one in which has propelled Jerome Bradpiece into a rather formidable chip lead with 285k.

As usual, my first glance at his table sees some Bradpiece chips in the pot (boy, he plays a lot of hands) with Frenchman, Bruno Fitoussi, raising behind him. Jerome, who is had limped under the gun, smooth calls the re-raise before briskly check-raising the Flop.

As expected, Bruno sticks in a bet of 9k, only for Jerome to make a deep reach and grab a chunk of 5,000's, pretty much setting Bruno all-in.

In a flash, Bruno moves in the rest of his stack and confidentally reveals and what he believes to be a dominating hand. Unfortunately for him, except for a full house, Jerome has one of the worst possible hands, , giving the Londoner both a straight draw and a flush draw.

And, as seems to be the pattern for the young Brit, the Turn brings a Three of Spades, and therefore a straight flush.

Of course, salt was rubbed in wounds and a disappointed Bruno was forced to witness the River bring a .

So, up to 285k and Jerome is in hot form. Let's see if it continues...

Rolf told me about his tournament ritual, which sounded somewhat far-fetched but has just been corroborated by Henning - "Every time it was his turn, he would wait ten seconds, move his chips, look at one card.  Wait.  Move the chips.  Pull his sunglasses down.  Look at the other card.  Wait.  Fold.  It was driving the whole table nuts.  So we gave him our chips..."

That does sound extremely annoying.  He seems to be doing a slightly abbreviated version of this on the feature table, and has his chips stacked in the most uncountable way imaginable (apparently another ritual, the flower at the bottom, and ludicrously tall towers of chips on and around it.  With that tic-tac box Snoopy mentioned perched on the top).  It is very odd seeing him in this context, the player Mr. Hyde compared to the updating Dr. Jekyll.

Paul moves his chip in twice in a row - and the second time Keith Hawkins gives him a spin... And the distinctive yet totally unexpected sound of the MC beatboxing fills the void while someone else thinks about calling...

Erich Kollmann is OUT.

He raised pre-flop with A-4, was called in the Big Blind by D Makowsky who had 5-3 of diamonds. The Flop came A-2-6 with two diamonds. Makowsky bet, Kollmann moved all-in and Makowsky called. Turn was a black 4 and Kollmann missed his full house on the Rive. Makowsky is now on around 60k.
