Thanks for the welcome, Tikay, Teacake, Dave, appreciate it. I am a Glasgow boy, Tikay, born and bred...

Thanks for the info and advice, really appreciate it.

Top 3 paid from 66??!! What's that all about? And starting big blind 10% of starting stack? Very strange...

Definitely up for CinCins, sounds like an excellent venue, and the tournament buyins and rebuy limits sound ideal for myself. I'm definitely going to push the suggestion on the group, but it's a posse of ex-work buddies I'm out with on Thursday, so not sure how receptive they'll be, we'll see. However, I've a group of regulars I play a weekly home game with who should be most interested so I am going to arrange with them to come along ASAP to check the place out. A few of us have played at Wabash in the past and at a few live tournies, so hopefully we should not be too much out of or depth...

Anyway, musn't ramble, but I'll hopefully maybe bump into some of you at the club in the near future, if not this Thursday then shortly afterward.

Cheers!!

Went to CinCin's tonight and it was a very disappointing turnout.  There was three of us and only 6 others, certaintly not enough to run a decent tournament.  I had high hopes after reading about it on here as well, it sounded like a great structure.

It was a disappointing turnout - we're getting to the point that we'll lose the night if no-one plays (even though everyone says they want that kind of structure  Undecided) - still the Satelittes were cracking for the second week running....

Cincin's should have their website up next week & that will hopefully confirm when games are on & get people through the door.

I hope to see you on Monday Rod if I make it down.

Sorry to hear about the poor turnout Thursday guys, I would have liked to have been there but the majority of my party ruled and so we were Riverboat bound. Am trying to organise a few of my regular home game players to come along this week, probably Thursday, if things are all still running?

As for the Riverboat, Teacake and DaveKK, boy were you right!! What an absolute joke... There was not one hand in the first 1 hour 45 minutes on my table that did not result in an all in, due to the ridiculous nature of the starting big blind being 10% of the starting stack. On 6 occasions I saw a full house beating a lower full house, people were just playing junk!! Some must have rebought over 10 times. I tightened up, only played premium hands, but even so, they were cracked with rags several times, most frustrating!! Plus the fact that as it was pot limit, with so many all ins, each hand took an age to play with all the multiple side pot calculations etc... Anyway, rant over...

Made it through the rebuy period low on chips, the play calmed down (slightly), but couldn't catch any cards and must have gone out about 30th out of 60 or something like that... Needless to say I will not be back...

Anyway, hopefully make it to CinCin's on Thursday, Rod could you confirm that the usual format is likely to go ahead? Cheers!

Your bang on the money .

This is exactly what myself, Rod, Dave etc have been saying for months but sadly mostof the small stakes players are still blindly going to the Boat like your mates for these chip chucking contests. Theres not even any value in it as your premium hands end up all in against 4 others almost everytime as the tables are 11 handed. There is also no enjoyment just utter disbelief & frustration.

I would defy anyone to play there on a Thursday night & not go on tilt. >:?

I was hoping to go to CinCin on Thursday but unfortunately wont beable to make it.

Usual format on Thursday.

I'm in danger of losing the night if we don't start getting some competitions going again. I'm a bit disappointed after the 54 runners in the first game  Sad - but I'm hoping that the Cincinnati Club website (due today) will help.

As soon as it's live I'll post a link, I've suggested a 'booking in' section so people can see how many have pre-booked to guage how busy a night will be.

Rod, I'll try my best to get down there with a few others to bulk up the numbers. Your idea for the website is excellent, it would be great to have an idea of the interest in advance. Once you post the link, I'll certainly forward it on to all the poker heads I'm in touch with, and I'm sure others on here will do the same. Before long that should generate some interest I am sure. I honestly think there must be loads of players in the Glasgow area looking for a good place to play a live game, it's just a case of getting the information out to the widest possible audience. Sounds like you are making progress and going along the right lines.

Keep up the good work!! Cheers.

Rod, any news on the website? Good to see the club with some pictures on AWorldOfPoker, looks  great. Hopefully be there tomorrow. Will you be starting a fresh thread solely for the club to post updates etc.? Cheers.

I'm waiting on an email from Greg (the site designer) - he's looking for feedback from me & the club bosses, then I'll post the link.

Where did you see the club? - Is AWorldOfPoker a tv prog?

Cool. Sorry, I should have included the link, it's a site, I actually just found it doing a google search for Cincinnati Club Glasgow. The link is below, check it out, I guess somebody connected to the club must have submitted the details and photos.

You'd get a friendly welcome Kiv, I mean RFC's posted on here that he was made very welcome by a group of Celtic fans - you can't get any more accepting than that  Wink
